Away from these feelings for Hawk.

Please get me out of here.

I stumble deeper into the garden and find a clearing hidden by thick shrubs. There’s a light pulsing through the foliage. Breathing hard, I stare at it.

What the…?

My common sense tells me to run the other way. My curiosity tugs me closer. I brush the leaves aside and step in.

Towards the light.

Towards the unknown.

There’s a shack in the clearing.

The entrance is open and I spy a giant doorway sitting in the shadows. My eyes burn from the light that’s pulsing from the doorway that leads to nowhere.

What the hell…?

A handsome man steps through the door, appearing out of thin air.

There’s nothing behind or in front of him that explains how he got there.

His feet land on solid ground.

His green eyes find mine.

My heart trembles as I watch him, knowing my life is about to change.

Knowing that he’s not from this earth.

Someone found their way into this movie.

And I just found my way out.

HAWK

Footsteps tread lightly toward the living room. I turn, expecting to see Shanel. Instead, Linda stands behind the couch with stomach flu pills in one hand and a frown on her face.

“Have you seen Shanel?” she asks.

“We were just wondering when she would join us.” I glance at Catherine who nods and smiles.

“She’s in the bathroom,” Catherine supplies cheerfully. “She’ll be right out.”

“I just checked there,” Linda says.

“What do you mean?” My shoulders get tense. “And she’s not there?”

“No.”

“Have you checked our room?”

“Our… you mean your bedroom?”

“Ours.”
