With that out of the way, what were we going to talk about?

The waitress thankfully walked over. She was carrying two wine glasses and a bottle of wine. “Good evening. Let’s start you off with a glass of wine before I go over our specials tonight.” She poured us each one, then rattled off several seafood and steak entrées.

“I’ll have the stuffed lobster tail, please.”

Draven said, “I’ll take the steak, medium. Thanks.”

She nodded and left to have our order filled.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever grow tired of eating seafood here because they have such a variety of dishes,” I admitted. “But if I don’t watch what I eat, I might need to borrow those sweatpants, because I won’t fit in anything I own. I’m usually running around too much to eat as much as we do.”

“Now you know why I go jogging every morning. The resort has some of the best food I’ve ever had. It’s delicious.”

Placing a hand on my abdomen I said, “It’s dangerous.”

“That too.” He held up his glass of wine and said, “Here’s to a night getting to know each other better.”

Just not too much.

“To building new friendships,” I added and saw him wince.Yes. I said it. Friends.

“Have you given any thought about things you would like to do while you’re here in Tabiq?” he added.

“Yes. Talk to Reesa about the other girls,” I reminded him.

He smiled. “I mean forfun.Or have you forgotten our conversation this morning?”

Not one conversation or a second spent with you has slipped my mind.It wasn’t like any other man I’d dated, and we were not even dating. Something about him was…easy. It’s like we’d known each other longer than just a few days. Weird because I really didn’t know anything about him.

Maybe it’s time to change that and once I know him better, I won’t like him so much.

“For fun. I like to eat popcorn with extra butter and watch movies. Also enjoy going hiking and camping in the wilderness. And by camping, I don’t mean glamping.”

“What the hell is glamping?” he asked.

“In an RV with electricity and a private bathroom,” I explained. “I’m not opposed to sleeping under the stars. I do enjoy bug repellent, though.”

“Agree. No fun with mosquito bites all over your ass in the morning,” he chuckled. “What else?”

“My best friend Diana would say that I love nightclubs, but that’s not true. I love to dance, and where else can you do that besides at a wedding or a club?”

“Dance? Oh, you should see me dance,” he grinned.

“You like to dance?” I’d never dated a guy who did.

“Enough beers and you can get me on the dance floor. You’ll regret it and it really is only good for a TikTok video. Hell, I’d probably go viral,” he laughed.

I laughed and covered my mouth. “Sorry. That bad, huh?”

“Probably worse than you can imagine.”

“Okay, so I know youcan’tdance. How about things you enjoy doing?” I asked.

“I like movies. But I’m more of the physical type. Hiking and camping, but I love to white water raft and skydive as well.”

“Oh, you like to live life on the edge,” I added.

“Not a thrill seeker, but I don’t believe in living life in fear. If something is going to happen to you, it could happen while sitting on your couch. So might as well get out there and enjoy life,” he explained.
