Every cell and atom inside her intertwined. “I love you.” Those three words were the easiest words ever spoken.

Pressing his lips to hers for a kiss that was as stunning as the sunset through the window. “Sweetheart, I want nothing more than to rip your clothes off and kiss every delectable spot on your beautiful body, but I also want to hold you close.”

She smiled. “I didn’t think I could ever say I’m good with that too, but we have forever.”

A minute ticked by.

He rolled up on his elbow and stared down at her. “Have we held each other long enough?”

Her laughter rolled up her throat. “Yes. Can we get to the good part now?”

“I didn’t think you’d ever ask.”

The kiss led to more until an hour later they slipped their sweaty bodies off each other, gasping for air, laughing like high schoolers.

“Wow, if I had known it would be this good…I mean, I knew it would be, but if I’d known you’d be this good I would have slept with you day one.”

Raven laughed. “And just think, we’re going to have a lifetime of this. Together.” He planted a quick kiss on her lips.

She felt full of joy.

Loss was a part of life and she’d experienced hers, but it had propelled her where she needed to be. Here in Raven’s arms, where she could foresee a future.

Lifting to her elbow she needed to ask him something. “Do you want kids?”

“Hell yeah. Six or seven,” he said sleepily.

“Great answer.” She dropped back down beside him. “I mean, not the number of children, but the fact that you can see yourself as a father is wonderful. We can negotiate the number.”

She snuggled up closer to him, pressing her cheek against his chest, and felt all worry leave her body. Truthfully, it didn’t matter where they called home because home was wherever they were together. Where they would plant their own roots.

Not the end but only the beginning.

about the AUTHOR

At an early age, Rhonda fell in love with romance novels, knowing one day she’d write her own love story. Life took a short detour, but when the story ideas were no longer contained, she decided to dive in and write. Her first plot was on a dirty napkin she found buried in her car. Eventually, she ran out of napkins. With baby on one hip and laptop on the other, she made a dream into reality—one word at a time.

Her specialty is men who love to get their hands dirty and women who are smart, strong and flawed. She loves writing about the everyday hero.

When Rhonda isn't crafting sizzling manuscripts, you will find her busy editing novels, blogging, juggling kids and animals (too many to name), dreaming of a beach house and keeping romance alive. Oh, and drinking lots of coffee to keep up with her hero and heroine.
