“I love you too, baby. Both of you.”

They shared a three-way hug. Lucas’s strong arms around them held both him and Adam close. Adam gripped Nash’s arm before leaning over and kissing him. Nash kissed him back, tongue thrusting, overwhelming all of Adam’s senses. Adam’s heart settled. He hadn’t been afraid of Nash. Even if he yelled, Nash would never hurt him. Adam knew that with all his heart. He was safe with his men. Which meant that he could finally face his past.

Adam drew back. “I won’t go to the farm but let me come with you. Just…just in case you need something.” He wanted to see the end of the church, his stepfather, and the suffering of others.

“I’m coming too,” Lucas said.

Nash snorted. “I had to convince the L.T. to let me go. Now you want me to talk him into letting you two join us?”

“No need.” Lucas shrugged. “We’re due for a vacation, I think. I’ll get us a hotel room. All expenses will be paid. We won’t bother him at all.”

“I…” Nash nodded. “As much as I don’t want Adam anywhere near there, I wouldn’t mind having you guys close.”

“That’s what we’ll do,” Lucas said. “We’ll hang out in the hotel, walk around the Strip, do some Christmas shopping, and make a few days out of it. But we’ll be there at night when you get done working.”

“I would love that.” Nash dropped his head. “I need you both with me.”

“I’ll get our bags packed,” Lucas said.

“I need to call Sam. I want to call Maverick too.” Adam pulled back before he grabbed his phone out of his pocket. “He should know what’s going on.”

“Go ahead, baby.”

Adam hurried into the living room and dialed Sam first. It would be an easier conversation than the one with his brother.

“You’re going with them,” Sam said as a hello.

He dropped down on the couch. “Yeah, I’m going back.”

“Are you sure that’s what you want to do?” Sam asked quietly. “You don’t have to. You got out.”

“I left other kids there,” Adam said. It was his biggest regret. Adam had never given one thought to what would happen to other kids that were going through the same thing. Hell, he didn’t know if any of his younger siblings had suffered. Sure, when Adam had lived at home, his siblings had been horrible. They’d taunted him, made up stories to get him into trouble, never showed him any kindness. That didn’t mean he should have abandoned them.

“No!” Sam snapped. “I am not going to let you do that to yourself. You were a fucking child. You’d been neglected and abused. You are not responsible for anyone other than yourself.”

“But I can help now. I can help Nash.”

“I knew you were going to do this. Caden is staying with me and he wanted you to stay too. I told him I didn’t expect you to stay in town.”

“Lucas is coming too.”

“A romantic getaway,” Sam singsonged.

“Not likely. Nash will be working. And if you remember, I hate Vegas.” Truthfully, Nash had never seen much of the Vegas that the tourists flocked to. He’d been stuck in the middle of the desert. Or, when he’d been incredibly young, living on the outskirts of town where the other poor were housed.

“Well maybe your men can give you better memories of that place.”

Adam laughed. “Maybe.”

“We got your shifts covered. Don’t worry about it.”

“Thanks, Sam.” He never doubted that Sam would give him the time off.

“Just make sure you call and give us updates. Don’t make me come and track you down.”

“I’ll call. There’s a candy store on the Strip that’s four stories high. Lucas might have mentioned Christmas shopping.”

“I love you. I’m your best friend in the whole world and don’t you forget it.”
