“Well, we appreciate it.”

“Of course. It was nice speaking to Trick too. Makes me itch to get under a needle again.”

“You know you’re always welcome in our shop. You did get the notice that we moved?”

“Rocky Lake, right? I haven’t checked the place out yet, but I will.” He glanced over where Adam was still talking to the manager. “And you’ve come with a couple of guys.” Jesse’s brows rose. “Two.”

He ducked his head. “Yeah, it’s different but it works for us.”

Jesse slapped his shoulder. “Nothing to worry about. I always knew it would take someone special to catch your eye. It just took two someones.”

Spending hours and hours with a client as he tattooed them was an intimate experience. Lucas was literally marking a client for life. Serious conversation often evolved when it was someone that Lucas worked on for years. More than one conversation had taken place about the type of boys that Lucas and Jesse were looking for. They had a lot in common.

“It did,” Lucas agreed. “That’s my baby, Adam. I’ll introduce you. My other boy is up in the suite working. Nash. He’s a detective with the Rocky Lake Police Department.”

“I’d love to meet both your men. I hope we can get dinner or drinks while you’re here.”

“I’d like that.” Even if Nash couldn’t join them, Lucas would love to catch up with Jesse. He waved his hand around. “This is amazing, man. You’ve come a long way.”

Jess laughed. “It’s too much but that’s what Vegas is all about.”

“It’s awesome.” Lucas would never want to be there full-time but a little trip now and again would be nice.

“We have several top-of-the-line shops, a three-star Michelin restaurant.” He stepped closer. “We also have several clubs on the lower level that you and your partners might be interested in visiting.”

Lucas lifted a brow. “We’re not really club people.” Not that he wouldn’t love Nash and Adam to dance for him. He just didn’t know how comfortable his baby would be in a club setting. Some of the stories Adam told broke his heart.

Jesse nodded. “I get it. But there is a more private club.” He passed a card to Lucas as his phone rang. “Damn it. I’m supposed to be in a meeting. I’ll call your room though so we can get those drinks or dinner. I hate to run—”

“It’s fine.” Lucas waved him off. “We’ll get together soon.”

Jesse gave him one last quick hug before he stomped away. He growled into his phone as he answered. Yep, money hadn’t changed Jesse. Lucas was glad. It would be nice to catch up with his old friend.

Lucas glanced down at the card in his hand.

Teddy Bear Club

“What is that?” Adam asked, peering down. He gasped.

The card itself was on heavy cream paper with light blue writing and held the name of the club, a teddy bear in the corner, and a number. There was no doubt that Jesse had set up that club to find his own boy. He and Lucas hada lotin common.

“How?” Adam squeaked. “Who was that?”

Lucas shook his head. “It’s okay, baby. That was my friend Jesse. He owns this place. He’s been a client for years. It’s his club and he knows all about me.”

Eyes wide, Adam nodded although his shoulders relaxed. “Nash is going to want to go.”

Lucas chuckled. Yeah, he wouldn’t put it past Nash to decide that going to the club was something that they’d have to add to their itinerary.

“It…it could be fun to go. I haven’t been to a club with partners. Only with Sam.”

“We’ll discuss it with Nash. Did you get our drinks ordered?”

“I did! Isn’t this place cool?”

“It is, baby.” Lucas tugged Adam to his side. He loved seeing the smile on his baby’s face. He nuzzled the top of Adam’s head as they waited for the order. Hopefully, the relaxed feeling would stay, and they really would be able to enjoy the trip.
