Storm looked at Hedda with tears in her eyes. This was the last straw.

“I'm so exhausted and I just don't want to live anymore,” Storm said. She could hear how tired she was just with how she was talking. “I just want to lay in bed and not do anything. I want to fall asleep and never wake up again. I just, I don't think I want to continue living anymore.”

Hedda’s eyes went wide as Storm continued to speak. She probably wasn’t thinking Storm was so broken and ready to give up. She probably thought she just needed a little pick me up, but it was more than that.

Storm didn’t know what to do anymore. Everything was just getting too overwhelming, and she just wanted it all to stop. It would be so much easier to just be able to do nothing, be nothing.

“You're going to go clock out and come to my house. We're going to talk about this whether you like it or not,” Hedda said. “This is serious and I'm not giving you a choice.”

She had expected something like this was going to happen. It wasn't just a small little deal, and she knew that. She had thought about ways she could help herself but none of them had worked.

Honestly, she probably did them wrong.

“Do you understand?” Hedda asked.

“Yeah,” she responded.

Storm put the last of her books away before she walked to the back and clocked out, grabbed her things, and headed toward the front doors. Hedda was standing by the door, waiting for her.

Nerves ran through Storm as she walked closer. It was a short drive to Hedda’s house and she knew she was going to have to explain everything she meant. While it would relieve her, she was also worried Hedda was going to judge her. There was always that possibility and Storm didn't know if she would be able to handle it in this frame of mind.

“Are you okay driving on your own or do you want me to drive?” Hedda asked.

She thought about it for a second. She didn't know what she wanted. Part of her wanted Hedda to drive but knew she wouldn't be able to get home unless Hedda took her. Would Hedda take her home in this state?

“I'll drive,” she responded.

Hedda looked at her with a weary expression in her eyes. “Are you sure? I can drive you if you want.”

“I'm sure. I'm totally fine to drive and if that changes, I'll call you right away.”

“Okay. You stay close to me.”

She nodded her head and got into her car. Taking several deep breaths, she tried to relax but it was no use. Her body and mind knew what she was about to do and it didn't help calm anything.

Her body and mind were getting ready for rejection and judgment. It had happened several times in her life and it was just the natural reflex.

She pulled out of the parking spot and followed Hedda as they drove to her house. At this point she didn't need to follow Hedda anymore to make her way to her house, but she knew right now Hedda needed her to be close. She was worried and she had a right.

Storm had just spilled her guts that she didn’t want to live anymore.

That was something major and maybe she should have waited until she was at Hedda’s house. It probably would have been wise, but the way Hedda had asked her if she was okay made her want to tell her right then and there.

It wasn’t long before they arrived. She took several deep breaths before getting out of the car and walking toward Hedda.

“Do you need anything to drink?” she asked.

Storm shook her head. She wasn't thirsty at all. All she wanted to do was relax and do nothing. She needed to get this over with.

“We’ll sit on the couch,” Hedda said as they walked into the house.

And that's exactly what Storm did. She sat on the couch and got comfortable while she watched Hedda pace back and forth.

“Spill the beans,” Hedda said. “I want to know when the fuck this started, how it started, and why you haven't fucking said anything until now.”

Storm took several deep breaths before she started to talk.

“It started the day Miles left after taking care of me. Well, technically at the party when I ran into him after using the bathroom. I felt this connection with him and when he came to my house to take care of me, I thought he felt it as well. I was clearly wrong about that.”
