“What happened?” she asked. “What did he do?”

Storm wasn’t sure if she wanted to tell Hedda what Miles said to her.

“He’s your best friend,” she whispered.

“So what? That doesn’t give him the fucking right to say something mean to you,” she replied.

“He told me it couldn’t happen and he never wanted to see me again.”

Her heart hurt just thinking about it. She needed to get over this, but it was harder than she thought.

“I don’t even know why I’m reacting to it like this.” Tears formed in her eyes. “I shouldn’t be, but he was just so kind to me when he was taking care of me. He called himself Daddy.”

At this point, tears were streaming down her face. The scenarios that happened were flashing before her eyes as she talked about them.

“At one point he called me his. I told him not to after that because I knew if he continued, I would get too attached, but it seems like I already am.”

Sympathy filled Hedda's face as she continued to talk. A little relief flowed through Storm’s body with that look. At least right now she knew she still had Hedda as a friend.

“What happened next?” Hedda asked.

“I don't remember him saying anything after. I just know he didn't say it again once I asked that," Storm replied. “It was so hard not to get attached when he took such good care of me. It was like he really wanted to be there, but I know now that wasn't true.”

“I'm sorry,” Hedda responded. “He should have been way nicer about it, and he should have known not to say something like that, either.”

Storm shrugged her shoulders and looked down at her lap. Hedda was right that he should have been nicer about what he said. There were so many other ways to handle it and he hadn’t been nice about it.

“I just, I'm in a funk. I felt this connection with him when he came to take care of me while I was sick, and I formed an attachment not realizing how deep it was. And when he said that, being slightly still sick, I really let it affect me,” she said.

“And that's okay. It's going to happen to us at least once in our life. I know what you're going through and it's no fun. I made it and I know you can, too. It's going to be hard but you're going to make it,” Hedda said. “Even if I have to drag your ass out of bed every day and drag you to work, we're going to do it.”

Storm couldn't help but have a little chuckle at that. She knew Hedda was very serious about what she said, but it was just the way she said it that brought out the giggles.

“Now, I've got some leftovers we're going to eat, and we can watch a movie at the same time,” she said as she started to walk toward the kitchen. “You stay here and relax while I go get the food.”

She nodded her head and relaxed a little on the couch. She knew that even if she volunteered to help, Hedda was not going to take it. It was just who she was. Even though she was a Little, she was very independent and didn’t want a lot of help with anything.

Her phone vibrated in her hand and she looked at it. Who could be texting her right now?

If you say anything to anyone, you’re dead.

Storm felt all the blood drain from her face as she read the text message. Who was this person? This was the second message. Why? Was this just some prank they wanted to make feel real? How did they know where she was?

Hedda walked into the living room with two plates.

“You good?” she asked.

“Yep! Just opened my phone and saw a spider video,” she said, shuddering.

She hated spiders and that was the closest lie she could come up with that would make her pale.

“Yuck. I hate spiders,” she replied. “Ready to watch a movie?”

“Yeah. What are we watching?”

“I was thinking about Mulan this time. The music is just amazing.”

Hedda handed Storm her plate and she took a deep breath in.
