She had no clue which of the people was talking. Everything was still so blurry she couldn't make out anything.

“You need to continue laying down. Your side and stomach are all fixed up now and we don't want you popping any stitches open from either area,” he said.

Storm blinked several times, trying to clear her eyes so she could see who was in front of her, but it didn't seem to help at all. Storm’s breathing started to pick up.

Had she lost a lot of her sight?

She remembered getting shot but didn't remember anything happening to her face. Yes, cold water did get splashed all over her but the majority was on her body, not her face.

The beeping noise got louder and louder, resulting in her breathing picking up even more.

“You're okay. Everything's all right,” Angelo said. “Can you tell me the last thing you remember?”

She went to speak, but her throat was dry.

“Drink this,” Hedda said.

She watched as a blurry person walked up closer to her, Hedda, and brought a cup to her lips. Storm started to drink it faster, or attempted to, but Hedda kept it where she was only getting a little at a time.

“Slowly or you're going to make yourself sick,” Hedda said.

Storm tried to glare at her but she felt so drained, all she wanted to do was go back to sleep.

“Now, can you tell me the last thing you remember?” Angelo said.

She continued to blink, trying to clear up the blurriness.

“Blurry,” she mumbled.

“What is blurry?” he asked.

“My eyes.”

Storm thought it would be obvious it was her eyes. What else could be blurry?

“That's okay. You’ve been asleep for a couple days now. Give your eyes time to adjust,” he said.

She'd been asleep for a couple days? What was he talking about? It was just yesterday she’d gotten shot and had been held prisoner by Richard.

“Your body shut down a couple days ago to heal from the gunshot wound and you have an infection and are sick,” he explained.

“I remember getting shot and then everything going black,” Storm whispered.

A shiver made its way through her body as she remembered Richard holding the gun up to her. She was so afraid, and the pain when he did shoot her was horrible.

The more they talked and she blinked, the clearer her sight became. She could see Hedda clearly since she was close to her, but the other two were still a little blurry.

What about the third person? Was it a male? Who was he?

The third person hadn’t said anything since they’d walked in, and she wondered while she was panicking if he’d slipped through the door and left. But seeing a second outline behind what she thought was Angelo confirmed he wasn’t gone.

“We don’t know how long you were there, tied to the chair as you bled from your gunshot wound. What we do know is you’re out of the woods and just need to heal now. We want to keep you here for a couple more hours to monitor you while you’re awake to see if anything pops up,” Angelo said.

Storm very slowly brought her right hand up to rub her eyes. Slight pain erupted on her left side, but she pushed through. Maybe if she rubbed her eyes, they would become clearer.

“Be careful when you do anything. We don’t want to tear any stitches,” he said.

She hadn’t been awake long, but the doctor had reminded her so many times to be careful she was starting to get annoyed. Storm knew she had gotten shot. She felt the dull ache as she laid there and any time she moved.
