Very wrong.

That wasn’t going to change anything though. She was still his and no one was going to stop him from claiming her. He knew she felt something toward him, and he knew he messed it up when he told her he didn’t want to see her anymore, but he was ready to make up for that.

No matter how long it took him.

He was just going to have to keep a close eye on her from now on until he knew she wasn't going to try and bolt.

No way in hell was she leaving him.

Miles opened the door and walked into the room.

“Be quiet. You don’t need to wake her up and bother her,” Hedda whispered. “She just fell asleep.”

He looked over at the bed to see Storm peacefully sleeping on the hospital bed. He so badly wanted to wake her up and talk to her, but he knew she needed her sleep. Getting shot and being sick weren’t a great combination and she needed all the rest she could get.

But Miles looked back at Hedda, who was standing next to Rogan, and rolled his eyes. He didn’t need to be told to be quiet and not bother her. All his intentions were to make things better for Storm, even if it was a little rough in the beginning.

Miles wasn't just thinking about the short term but also the long term.

He walked over to the seat next to Storm and sat down, looking at her. He couldn’t wait for the day when he could have her back in his arms, to cuddle and coddle her. Everything in him wanted to do that now, but he had an audience and she was hurt.

“Miles,” Hedda said.

He ignored her and grabbed Storm’s hand. He just wanted to be with Storm right now, in her presence. Miles finally knew she was awake and would hopefully be better soon. It was a relief and he just wanted to relax for a little bit before he had to go back out.

He still needed to find Richard and make him pay for what he’d done to Storm.

“Miles,” Hedda said again. “Look at me.”

Sighing, he looked over at Hedda, still holding Storm’s hand. He wasn’t about to let go, even if she asked him to. He needed to feel her skin against his.

“What?” he asked, not interested at all.

Right now, even if Hedda was his best friend, he wanted to be alone with Storm. He needed to be alone with her.

“Please take it easy on Storm. She just woke up and being kidnapped is still fresh on her mind. She’s going through a lot right now and you don’t want to contribute to that,” Hedda said. “Maybe leave her alone for a couple days so she can find her grounding again.”

“Storm is mine and you can’t do anything about it,” he replied, his voice void of any emotion.

How dare she tell him to leave her alone. To let her have space away from him. Right now, she needed to be with him. He was going to take care of her.

How was he going to do that if he wasn’t near her? Who was going to look after her if he wasn’t around?

No one.

Hedda turned to Rogan and crossed her arms.

“You need to do something. He isn’t thinking clearly and right now he needs to be gentle with Storm,” Hedda said. “Do something.”

“Stop getting into people’s business. Miles and Storm will work it out and you need to give them space to do that,” Rogan said.

Miles knew he could count on Rogan to be on his side. They saw things the same way.

“We’re going home,” Rogan told her before looking at Miles. “Sorry about Hedda. I’ll be having a talk with her when we get home.”

Hedda stomped her foot and shook her head. “No. I’m not going home. I need to be here when Storm wakes up. What if Miles pushes her too far?”

Right now, Miles was angry Hedda would think he would do anything bad to Storm. She was his everything and he wouldn't do anything that would harm her. He would hate himself so much if he harmed her in any way.
