“Tough luck because you don’t get a choice in the matter,” Miles said.

Storm looked at Miles with wide eyes, her mouth open in shock. Did he really say that?

She looked over at the doctor, Angelo, and gave him pleading eyes. Maybe he could talk to Miles and see if he could get him to calm down.

“Doctor, I can't go with him,” she said. “He’s forcing me to go with him! It’s almost like kidnapping.”

Maybe it was kidnapping since it was against her will, but she knew Miles wouldn’t see it that way. Maybe the doctor would see it that way. Boy was she was wrong.

The doctor chuckled and shook his head. “I agree with Miles on this one.”

“They’re friends,” Hedda whispered. “They both work for Rogan.”

Storm’s eyes went wide as she stared at both men standing in front of her. Shit. Maybe she shouldn’t have said that. Why hadn’t that gone through her head? They were in the compound and Angelo was here. She should have known he worked for Rogan and next to Miles.

Miles’ face turned slightly angry and she flinched. She didn’t like it when anyone’s face showed the emotion of anger. She didn’t like it when she made people angry, but she normally didn’t try.

He stepped closer to her and grabbed her chin with his hand.

“Don’t ever try to turn my friends on me. They won’t and they know I have my best interest when I say something,” he said seriously. “Especially when it comes to you.”

Storm stared at him as he looked at her.

“Do you understand?” he asked.

“Yes,” she whispered.

“Yes, Daddy.”

She bit her lip, not wanting to say that. He may think of himself as her Daddy right now, but they hadn’t talked about it. He just said he was. She wasn’t going to call him Daddy.

“You’ll eventually say it,” he whispered. “I just know it.”

Before she could say anything, he let go of her chin and stepped away. Angelo took a step forward and cleared his throat.

“You aren’t allowed to walk much right now. You have stitches on your side and stomach and any slight movement with walking or moving could rip them and you could start to bleed,” he said. “You’ll need someone to carefully carry you places for the next week or so while your gunshot wound and ribs heal. The stitches on your side will heal faster than your stomach since that incision was made clean by us to get the bullet out.”

She scowled at him. Storm didn’t like the sound of that. She could get around just fine on her own. She’d just have to prove it to them.

“I can do it on my own,” she said. “I don’t need to be taken care of.”

“I disagree,” Angelo said. “As your doctor, if you won’t go home with Miles then I’ll be keeping you here and trust me, you’ll want to have gone with Miles if it comes to that.”

Storm didn’t like the sound of that, either. She wasn’t a baby that needed supervision twenty-four seven. She was a grown adult who had been living on her own for years now.

“I’m going home by myself,” she said. “You can’t stop me.”

“Yes, I can. I’m giving you two options. Either go home with your Daddy or you can be admitted here with a cuff around your wrist that is attached to the bed so you can’t leave,” Angelo said.

She glared at him, not liking what he was telling her. He couldn’t do that. Maybe if she called the police, they could do something.

“I wouldn’t try anything. Especially not the cops, but you already know that. That’s why you called Miles instead of the cops when you were getting kidnapped,” Hedda said.

Storm let out a sigh and shook her head. Hedda was right. There was no way she was going to call the police, especially knowing Miles was part of the Ricci Crime Family.

“You’re still weak right now. You’re fighting off an infection, but you also have the gunshot wound and bruises all over your body,” Angelo said before she could say anything else. “You need your Daddy to take care of you so you can heal properly and not prolong anything.”

She knew he was right but that didn’t mean she wanted to admit it. When she got sick, it always took longer for her to heal when she was on her own, but when she had someone to take care of her, it went by faster.
