Miles looked at him weird. What was he saying no to?

“Call Hedda and tell her to come over here. Get Lucius and Taj to come guard the door and get your ass over to the dungeon,” Rogan said.

“I’ll be here if anything happens to Storm,” Angelo said. “Nothing is going to happen, but I promise not to go too far away from her.”

It made Miles feel a little better, but he still felt off about it. He didn’t want to leave Storm here on her own. What if she woke up and got scared?

But Miles knew he needed to.

He had to.

“Okay,” Miles said.

“Be at the dungeon in twenty minutes,” Rogan said, leaving the room.

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT

MILES

Miles cracked his neck as he walked into the room. It was time for him to talk to the guard and get information out of him. He knew the guard knew things, it was just a matter of whether he would talk or not.

He was new enough he didn’t know a lot about the Ricci Crime Family, unless he got buddy buddy with someone.

But that was unlikely.

A lot of the guys that had been there from the beginning didn’t talk to the newer recruits. Not until they proved they were here to stay and were going to be loyal. Miles wouldn’t be surprised if he hadn’t gotten close to anyone and had done this for that reason.

There had been a couple new recruits over the years that didn’t like that, but no one cared. If they really wanted to be part of the Ricci Crime Family, they would do whatever it took.

That was what all the original people did.

Miles looked around the room. Rogan was leaning up against a wall behind the guard who was tied to the chair. Standing right next to him was Dane.

What was Dane doing there?

He was a tracker and an assassin when he was needed. He had been solo for a while after he got out of the military, but Rogan somehow figured out how to get him to join the Ricci Crime Family.

Before he was part of the family, he had done several jobs for them.

He was dangerous and Miles was glad he was now on their side.

Miles looked back at the guard, tied to the chair. He was shaking in the chair and Miles knew he had the guard right where he wanted him.

Scared and desperate.

“Who handed you the package?” Miles asked as he walked closer to the guard. “What did they say?”

The guard looked at Miles with wide eyes, opening his mouth and closing it.

“Speak!” Miles yelled.

“I-It was a r-regular d-delivery person,” the guy stuttered. “S-Said it was for Storm.”

Miles shook his head and leaned toward the guard.

“Why the fuck did you give it to Storm?” he asked. “It wasn’t a fucking regular delivery person. You know who it was!”

“I r-really d-d-”
