"You like my food because you know I make it with love." That is something my mom used to say.

She probably still does.

Atlas stops on the way to the backdoor, turns and pulls me in for a hard kiss.

When we get to the mansion, after taking off our coats, we head straight for the dining room. However, it isn't food spread out on the table. It's design plans for a house.

"What's this?"

"Our house."

What is he talking about? We don't have a house. "Did you ask me to move in together and I don't remember it?"

"No. Wearemoving in together, but you get final say on the details of the house."

"You know it doesn't work like that. You can't just tell me I'm moving in with you. It's not like showing up with extra clothes in a duffle and never leaving."

"I am aware."

"So?"

"What do you think of the plans for our house?"

"Seriously? That's how you're going to play this?" Though why I'm surprised, I don't know.

Irresistibly drawn to the design plans, I study them. The house is a lot like the one I planned to buy, only bigger. A lot bigger. It's one floor with four bedrooms, a giant kitchen with a sunroom breakfast nook, and formal living and dining rooms. Unlike the house I planned to buy, this one has a large family room too.

"It has the big windows you like, but these ones will be insulated with automatic blinds installed between the panes of glass."

"Where is it going to be built?"

"We'll expand our security wall to cover one of the properties we own to the east of the compound. It will give us enough distance for privacy without compromising security." He frowns. "We can't have a tree in the front yard because it poses too much of a security risk."

Flabbergasted at all the plans, I nod. "Is that a Wolf and Miele range in the kitchen?"

"Yes. Elaine said it was on your wish list."

"But totally out of my budget. Or at least it was." Sometimes, I have to remind myself that I have the money from the sale of the club and it's all mine.

It's not as much as I had to start the club, but it's plenty to do the things I want. Atlas is right. I could buy a small house and pay cash and still have enough left over to live on for quite a while.

He cups my nape. "Not out ofourbudget though."

I adore the way he can't keep his hands off me.

"You talked to Elaine," I say as his words click in my brain. "About what kind of house I wanted."

"She worked with me and the architect to design something that fulfilled all your dream elements and your absolute musts."

"The sunroom breakfast nook," I say.

He nods.

"Is there an herb garden in the back yard?"

"There will be. We'll have landscapers come in and create the front and back yard you want to raise our family."

"Raise our family. You're talking marriage again, but I can't help noticing, there has been no proposal." I step back and glare up at him, my arms crossed over my chest. "You are not dictating we get married, Atlas Rokos. You are going to ask like a normal person."
