“I’m in here,” I said, shaking the branch of a tree.

She walked over to me and peered inside the greenery, a cheeky smile on her face.

“That was way too close. We need to keep our distance.”

“You’re right. I’ll see you at the wedding,” I said, trying to disappear into the bushes again.

Grace leaned in to kiss me, catching me by surprise as her lips met mine.

“See you later,” she said as she scurried off.

I watched her leave, knowing that it was going to be impossible for me to keep my hands off of her all day. I had to dig deep and find some self-control somewhere.

A few hours later,I wandered down to the beach where the ceremony was being held. Of course, Ella had hired the most expensive, high-end wedding coordinator that she could find, so everything looked immaculate.

The white chairs of the aisle were lined with greenery, and there was a large wooden arch at the end of the aisle, overlooking the water. It was adorned with the same greenery, and white fabric that danced in the breeze. I wasn’t sure if Ella had seen it yet or not, but I knew she was going to love it. It was exactly her style.

I meandered around the beach for a while until I couldn’t handle the feeling of the sand in my shoes anymore. I made my way up to one of the bars and checked my watch. 11AM. Perhaps a bit too early for a drink, but I still had three hours to kill until the ceremony, and I wasn’t sure what to do with those hours.

I thought about going up to Ella’s room to see how things were going, but I knew she would just throw me out, so I continued wandering the resort with no purpose.

I could go to the gym and get in a quick workout, but I just wasn’t in the mood. Plus, last night’s workout had been more than enough. If I was going to enjoy my vacation, that was the only kind of workout I wanted.

When I mademy way back up to my suite, I was surprised to see Grace sitting on the bed inside. She was wearing pink silk pajamas that were just begging to be ripped off, and she had a worried expression on her face.

She was dealing with an issue with the caterer. Or maybe it was the makeup artist. I honestly wasn’t being that great of a listener. All I could think about was all the things I wanted to do to her when I finally got her alone that night.

I had seen the dress she would be wearing for the wedding, and I knew it would slip off her shoulders with very little effort on my part. Then she would be all mine to devour. I’d start at her neck and work my way down, being sure not to miss a single inch of her skin. I could taste her on my lips, but I knew it was nowhere near as good as the real thing. I longed to run my hands over her smooth skin and grab her hips as I slid inside of her.

I watched her talk and her lips moving were absolutely intoxicating. The wrinkle between her eyes that she got when she was worried or frustrated was unbelievably sexy. I couldn’t tell if she was aware that I wasn’t actually listening to what she was saying. But if she was, she didn’t seem to mind.

Despite the stress of the moment, I knew she was just as ready for tonight as I was. If last night was any indication, we would be up until dawn, once again.

Watching her, I couldn’t deny the fact that I was head over heels in love with her. I wanted to tell the whole World, but I knew it wasn’t the right time.

I leaned in to kiss her, but I was stopped by the sound of her buzzing phone. Before I knew it, she was gone, and I was left alone with my filthy thoughts to keep me company.

As she left the room, I flopped back onto the pillows and closed my eyes. I wasn’t sure how, but I needed Ella to get on board with this relationship, and I needed it to happen soon. I wanted the whole world to know how I felt about Grace, and without Ella’s blessing, that could never happen.

It was incredibly unfortunate that this weekend was supposed to be all about Ella and Jonas. I couldn’t possibly bring up the idea of me having a relationship with Ella’s best friend at a time like this.

Before I could stop myself,I drifted off to sleep, dreaming of Grace the entire time. When I woke, my phone was buzzing in my pocket. When I finally woke up enough to realize what was happening, I had about million missed calls from Ella, Grace, and Jonas. Shit. I was supposed to be down there, like, half an hour ago.

I called Ella as I started scrambling to the elevator, and I truly had no idea how furious she was going to be.

“Hey, asshole! Do you have any idea what time it is? Are youtryingto ruin the best day of my life? You better have averygood excuse for why you’re so late.”

“Ella, I’m so sorry. I’m on my way down now. I fell asleep.”

“You fell asleep? On my wedding day? How could you do this to me?”

Before I could respond, I heard Grace’s voice in the background trying to reassure Ella. She finally convinced Ella to hand over the phone, and I was relieved to hear her sweet voice.

“Dylan?”

“I’m sorry, Grace. I didn’t mean to ruin anything.”

“I know. It’s fine. Just—”
