“Nope. Not going to work. Go to sleep, baby. I’m beat.”

“Me too, but I wanted to wait for you.”

“I’m here now.” He kissed her forehead, stood, removed his clothes, then climbed into the bed. He pulled her against him, closed his eyes, and drifted off.

The sunlight streaming through the window woke him. Blinking against the brightness, he tugged the blanket over his head and reached for Cin, but the bed was empty.

He sat up and glanced around. Then he heard the shower. With a grin, he tossed off the blanket, got up, and padded to the bathroom. He opened the door, entered the room to see it filled with steam, and strolled to the stall. He could see her under the spray, and his dick saw her too.

He slid the door open, stepped inside, and touched her waist. She turned to face him.

“About time you got…” She looked down at his dick. “Up.”

“I’m up every morning since being with you.”

“You’re such a charmer, Rhett Morrison.”

He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close.

“I’m being honest. You’ve come to mean a lot to me, Cin. More than you could know.”

“Same here.” She tilted her head. “Do you think that’s weird?”

“Why would it be weird?”

“We’ve been friends for so long.”

“But not close friends. I have always thought you beautiful.”

“Thank you. And you are very handsome. I didn’t realize how much I wanted to be with you until I was.”

Rhett kissed her lips. “Merry Christmas, darlin’.”

“Merry Christmas, baby.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. “Let’s shower, then see if Santa left us anything.”

“I can guarantee he left you something.”

When she wrapped her fingers around his dick, he groaned.

“This?”

“That is for your pleasure any time of the year.”

Cin laughed. “Good to know.”

Once they finished in the shower, they dressed and headed downstairs. Rhett could hear his family in the kitchen. They entered the room, got coffee, and then went to the living room.

Everyone exchanged gifts, and he still hadn’t given Cin her present. He took a deep breath, stood, got the little present from his coat pocket, reentered the living room, and sat on the sofa beside her.

“Merry Christmas.” He handed her the box.

“You didn’t have to get me anything.”

“I know that, but I wanted to. You got me gifts.”

“Just some shirts.”

“I can use them, darlin’. It gets damn cold when you have to round up cattle in the winter.”
