Gabriel shook his head. “I can’t use her as my demo sub.”
“Why the hell not? Is spanking and the use of paddles a hard limit for her?”
“No. But I’m going to use some impression toys tonight; those are hard limits for her.” He glanced over where Dani sat with Sierra and Rose. Dani wasn’t ready for this.
“You’re careful with impression toys. You never leave a mark beyond a few minutes.” Zeke stared at him. “Talk with her. Tell her that you’ll need to use another sub for the impression toys if they’re a hard limit. But I sense there’s something else.”
“I won’t use her. I will not scare her.” Not again. Never again.
“Have you told her this?” Zeke asked.
Gabriel shook his head.
“You’re being a fool. Dani isn’t going to accept a half-assed Dom. So if that’s how you’re going to act, she is right to walk away.”
Gabriel opened his mouth to reply when Max approach them. “Why is Dani sitting with Sierra and Rose? Shouldn’t you be getting her ready?”
“He’s not using Dani,” Zeke commented.
“What?” Max stared at Gabriel. “After all the crap around you two getting together, you’re not going to use her?”
“Listen Max, this is really between Dani and me.” Damn. He screwed up. He needed to talk to Dani and sort this out. Now. He took a step in her direction until Max stopped him cold with his words.
“This is my club, and Dani is one of my people. So either you tell me what’s going on, or I’ll get the story out of Dani.”
Gabriel rubbed his forehead. “Apologies, Max. I know you’re just looking out for everyone in the club. Dani has a hard limit with impression toys, and this demo was set up before we got together. Plus, I made the mistake of not telling her beforehand.”
“I see. But spanking and paddles are not a hard limit,” Max said.
“No, but impression paddles are. And I’m using one of those tonight.”
Max frowned. “I see. Have you told her you can use the impression paddle without leaving an impression?”
Zeke snorted. “He’s too wrapped up in his own head. He won’t use her.”
“I don’t want to scare her.” Gabriel shifted on his feet. He really was looking after Dani, no matter what anyone else thought.
“You have a choice, Gabriel. You have five minutes to ask Dani if she wants to be your sub for the demo and explain you’re using an impression toy. Give her a choice. If she says no, no foul. If she says yes, and you refuse, you do it with the knowledge you can never approach her in the club again.”
Gabriel stared at Max. “You’re joking, right?”
“Do I look like I am?”
Gabriel saw the determination and finality in Max’s eyes. Was Gabriel wrong? It wouldn’t be the first time. Why did he seem to screw things up with Dani? Because he cared. He cared a lot. He worked hard to make sure she was comfortable, to the point of not telling her things that he deemed uncomfortable for her. Another damn mistake.
Without a word, he walked away from the two men and over to where Dani sat with Sierra and Rose. “My apologies.” He held his hand out to her. “We need to talk before I do the demo.”
“Are you going to allow me to be your demo sub?”
“Depends on your answers. Honest answers.”
“All right.” She placed her hand in his.
He helped Dani stand and guided her over to the scene area. “Let’s discuss what I’m going to do tonight.” This is what he should have done before they came to the club. Or at least told her they needed to talk when she got here. But when she said she was ready to be his sub, he retreated to an old pattern of non-explanation instead. He would break that habit, even if it killed him.
“You will be restrained over a spanking horse. I will start with a light spanking, move on to using a flogger, a paddle, and lastly, I will be using an impression paddle.”
Her eyes widened. “May I see the impression paddle?”
