“Thank you for coming. Where’s that guy you live with.” She jokes, pulling me into a hug.

I snickered back, “He’s getting drinks.”

“Where do you get your dress?” She gleams.

“I made it.”

She makes a line with her lips, “This might be weird to ask but can you make another version of this dress for me? I’ll pay you!”

Ru

“Two Negroni’s, please,” I order.

“Wén?” A voice says behind me, I turn around and see Vera.

Vera was Greyson’s mother’s best friend in high school. “Nice to see you, Vera.” I greet.

She smiles with crossed arms. “I’m surprised that you showed up tonight. I thought the partying days for you were over. We haven’t seen you at a party in about five years. “

“I just did it for so long it’s not fun anymore, but my partner, Taurus, wanted to come,” I explain.

She raises her brows, “You don’t say.” She turns around and walks away as if she is looking for something.

I take the drinks and walk to the terrace, but before I walk up to Taurus, I hear Nolan’s voice. “Did you see that young pussy Wén walked in with? Shit, how much do you think she’ll take to suck me off with those lips.” I hear him laugh, but no one is laughing with him.

My temper rises within me, and it seems like all my anger about Greyson’s antics and Nolan’s comment boil together into a shit soup.

“Seriously, how much does he pay to have a piece of ass like that on his arm.” He continues.

I’m not one to lose my temper, but I’m at my breaking point.

Taurus

“Yes of course! I would love to make you this dress. I could come here to take your measurements or you can come to the house. Whatever is easier for you.” I gush.

I see behind Lily that Ru is walking over to Nolan, and he looks particularly pissed.

“Lily, give me one second.” I laugh nervously.

“No, please go enjoy. Ru has my number, just text me about the dress stuff.”

“Of course.” I walk over to Ru and clutch his arm.

Ru looks over at me and instantly calms down.

“There's my drink.” I hum, lighting up the mood. “What’s wrong?” I ask looking at those distinct brown eyes.

“Nothing, just trivial idiocy. The moonlight shines beautifully on you,” His compliment tries to escape whatever took place.

“I thought so.” I agree.

“Oh, did you?” He playfully raises his brows, showing now that I have him distracted from whatever he was about to do.

A woman sits next to Nolan and waves for us to come to sit with them and others. I look over at Ru to make sure he is calm enough to go over there and he nods.

We take a seat, and everyone’s eyes are on us. “Taurus is your name, right? I’m Vera, I went to high school with Wén.”

Do all his friends call him by his last name? Should I be calling him that?
