“Yes, sir,” I reply. “Whatever you say.” I mock sweetly.

He flashes a dangerous grin, “That’s what I like to hear.”

“I thought what you like to hear are my cries,” I whine, trying to move my hand.

He kisses my hand once more. “That too.” I whine again, “Sorry.” He apologizes.

Ru drives us straight to the hospital after that, which again in my head seemed dumb since my hand was fine. It was just a bit of pain.

“I’m telling you my hand is fine.” I groan.

Ru strokes my cheek with his thumb. “It could be broken.”

“It’s not. Dr. Adams, can you please tell him that.”

The doctor tries to stifle her laughter and says, “Ms. Maxwell is correct. It is not broken. Just a sprain.”

“Told you I could have been a doctor.” Lifting and dropping my brows as I stretch out the word ‘doctor.’

“You still can be.” He whispers into my ear, and I find this role-play idea cliché, but intriguing.

“You should be fine, just make sure to rest that hand. I am going to recommend that you take ibuprofen, but other than that ice would be best.” The doctor advises.

With the doctor’s bill of health, we went home and watched a few movies in Ru’s room. Although, through the movies, I was trying to find hints about our mystery destination.

“One hint?”

He ignores me and grasps my waist tightly.

“Fine.” I groan. “I went into town today and a man was selling his store and I wanted to know if you would be interested in it. It’s a small space, but it’s cute. You could turn it into a mini gallery or something.”

Ru looks over at me. “I’ll have to drop by the shop sometime this week before we leave.”

“Because we are going to…?” My embarrassing attempt at finding out once more, but he looks away from me with a grin.

A Week Later

Ru covered all the windows in the jet, so I could not see where we were landing and as he slept, I tried to sneak off, but he is too much of a light sleeper. When I feel the plane touch down my body tingles. I fell asleep when I got on the jet, so I’m not sure how long it took to get here.

“Ms. Maxwell, Mr.Wén, welcome to Shanghai.” The flight attendant politely smiles.

I look at Ru with the widest eyes. “This is where my parents were born. They have a house here and once my mother told my father about us; he asked me to bring you. He wants us to stay at their home, but I have a place on standby if you would rather have a more private place.” Ru explains.

Ms. Young said that Ru’s father is similar to Ru, so he must be amazing. “Does your mother know about this?” I wonder.

“No, it’s a surprise. Only my father knows.”

“Will there be space for us? I don’t want to be rude.”

Ru snickers, “My father will cry if we don’t stay. He is an overly sensitive man”

I get up from my seat and kiss his lips, “Well, we can’t keep him waiting now can we.”

“No, we cannot.” Kissing me back with force.

A car takes us down a long road, when we reach the road, a huge gate opens for us, and we drive through. A whole mansion comes into my gaze. Ms. Young is a billionaire, but I didn’t think her house would bethismassive.

A man is waiting at the bottom of the steps, and he is a copy of Ru, just older. He is wearing a white button-down and dress pants.
