I seem to have made it to the hospital. “Where’s the baby?” I ask the doctor.
“The baby is being looked after, please rest.” The doctor answers. She continues to check the monitors around me.
“Where is she?”
“Not too far.”
Hours earlier
“I thought I was doing you a favor when I told you I tried to kill you once, but of course here you are.” Tasmin laughs.
She puts the baby down in a playpen and I see that she has tucked away a gun in there. I run to take it from her hand, but she shoots me. I fall to the floor, and she stands over me.
“This is your fault for being stupid.” She snickers.
I see the babysitter come up behind her and hit her with a paperweight.
Present
Now I’m somehow in this hospital. “I need a paternity test for that baby and I,” I explain.
The door opens and my dad comes through. My father doesn’t say a word he just put his hand against my cheek. When my dad acts like this it reminds me of when I was a kid. When my dad was sleeping next to me all the time because I hated sleeping alone. The way he would always talk things out with me even when I would lose my temper. All I want right now is my dad.
“How are you feeling?” Dad asks.
His thumb rubs my forehead, “It hurts, really badly.”
“We’re going to get you fixed up. Okay?” Dad is scared, but he doesn’t want me to know.
In the corner of my eye, I can see Taurus looking at me from outside the door. I pointed at the door and her head disappears. “Tell her she can come in.” I softly chuckle.
Dad gets to the door, and she comes in.
“Hey…” Her voice cracks. “How are you?”
“Better, now that my stepmom is here.” I joke and she smiles.
She takes my hand, “I am so sorry.” She apologizes but I don’t understand why.
“It’s not your fault.” I grip her hand back. “Taurus…I need to tell you something.”
She looks at me confused, “What?”
I inhale slowly, “Tasmin has another daughter, and she might be my daughter.”

“I’m getting a test done to make sure, but she looks just like me,” Greyson explains.
You would think I would be used to her betrayals, but no. She decides to bring another child into this world, and what’s worse, with the man that I was going to marry. She chose to purposefully have this kid. The surprises never end with her. She continues pushing the envelope and then pretends to be some victim.
“How did I get to the hospital?” Greyson asked.
“The babysitter called the cops and then an ambulance came to get you. Tasmin has been arrested.” Ru explains. “She won’t be able to bother us anymore.”
“That’s good.” Greyson sighs.
