The dress falls onto the floor of the bathroom. I step into the shower and feel the hot water on my skin. I sit on the floor of the shower and let the water fall onto my body.

Did Kyro bring me back? Or someone else? He’s okay, and that’s all that matters. I’m going to see his face again and speak to him again.

Wrapping up my shower, I noticed my hands were shaking. The feelings are still there, the fear of losing another person consuming my mind with every second.

I step out of the shower and wrap my towel around my body, and step back into the room. Prince is still asleep, but Kyro is in his closet. He notices me and smiles as he walks up to me. I don’t know why, but I immediately ran into his arms.

“If getting shot is all it took for you to run into my arms, I should have done it sooner.” He jokes. I yank the back of his hair out of annoyance, and he laughs, “Don’t tempt me,zhena. We never finished what we started in the hospital.”

“We?” I scoff.

Unwrapping my arms from him, I walk into my closet to get dressed. “Let’s take the boys out for breakfast before Trey’s mother comes to pick him up,” Kyro suggests.

I reject the idea. “No, let’s have breakfast here. I told you; you shouldn’t be walking. Stay in bed with the boys and I’ll make breakfast.”

“You can’t cook.” He retorts.

I glare at his response. “You’ve never tried my cooking.”

“Prince clued me in. Just have the chef prepare something. There’s no need for everyone to get food poisoning.” He laughs, going back into his closet to change.

I roll my eyes and leave the room to talk to the chef.

When I return, Kyro is in sweatpants and no shirt, revealing his sculptured abdominal muscles. The deep ‘V’ trailing into his sweatpants. His tattoos grace his body beautifully, but bandages cover some. I put a hand softly on the bandages.

Kyro grabs my hand and kisses it. “Please don’t worry. This isn’t the first time I’ve been shot and probably not the last, but I always come back.” He grabs my face and makes me look up at those serious blue eyes. “I willalwayscome back to you.”

I grabbed his hands, which were still on my cheeks. I get on my tippy toes and kiss him passionately. What is he doing to me? I don’t want to care for him, but day by day I grow more attached than the last. Kyro kisses me back with greater intensity. Those soft lips feed the growing feeling in my body.

Suddenly, I hear someone clear their throat, “I’m glad you guys are happy, but…” Prince’s voice was clear, and I instantly pull away. “Trey and I want to finish the comic we were reading before his mom comes.”

I nod, but I know my blushing cheeks. “Yeah, of course, go ahead.” When Prince leaves, I groan, “I cannot believe he saw us kissing.”

Kyro laughs, “It’s good for kids to see parents being affectionate.”

“Speaking from a girl who hadveryaffectionate parents, I was emotionally distraught for life. My parents were not discreet at all. They never hid sex from me. If they wanted to fuck, they would, and not quietly either.” I ramble.

Kyro covers his mouth, trying not to laugh. Then clears his throat. “Well, let’s relax in bed today to ease your mind about my injury. Let’s just talk.” Kyro suggests.

Kyro and I get into bed, and I snuggle up to him. “Kyro, tell me more about yourself. I want to know you more than anyone else.”

I think hard about what to say. “There’s nothing about me you wouldn’t find in a background check.”

“Not enough.” He answers. So, he did a background check on me? “When I saw you in person for the first time, it was three days after I found out Ivan had passed away. I saw you and Prince on a sidewalk. After that, I spent months trying to figure you out, but I couldn’t. I knew I had to speak with you in person.”

I raise a brow. “So, you stalked me?”

“Collecting information.” He corrects.

My finger traces his lips, and he tries to bite it. “Definitely stalking, but I’ll give you a pass for now.”

Kyro pulls on a strand of my hair. “Reyna, I need you to stop spending time with that pig friend of yours. For our safety and his own. I don’t want to be put in a position to kill your friend if he figures out too much about me or our family. “

That’s true, Rowan is a police officer and if he got too close to us, Kyro could end up killing him. I can afford to let him go if it means our family will be safe. Besides, I still have Izzy.

“Are you sure you’re not just being possessive?” I snicker.

“Of course I am. Do you think a ring will stop a man from trying to make a move on a woman as beautiful as you? I don’t even allow my men near you.” He scoffs.
