Out of all the charities, she chose his. What is Maeve playing at? Why would she want to be anywhere near Kyro? I’ll need to watch her. If she tries anything, she’ll lose every strand of hair on her head.

Seconds later comes Maeve with a nervous smile on her face. “This is such a beautiful event.” She comments.

“I’m surprised you would show up to an event with everything else going on right now,” Kyro shoots back.

Rowan glares at Kyro for his statement, but Kyro just smirks back at him.

“Yes, but I am not saddened. My father should rot in jail. All criminals should.” Her eyes looked away.

What the fuck is she getting at?

“I’m sure your husband is doing his best. Miami’s finest.” Kyro digs.

Prince runs back to Kyro’s side and Maeve stares at Prince with confused eyes. “You have a son?”

“Yes, Prince, introduce yourself.” Kyro nudges.

Prince nods, “Hi, I’m Prince Zotov.”

“Zotov?”

Maeve

Fifteen Years Ago

Ky won’t answer any of my calls. He moved out of his apartment. Fuck, what did I do? I should have listened to him, but he won’t even give me the chance to. Here I am crying at his door.

“Move aside.” A voice says with a heavy Russian accent. I look and see a guy with bright green eyes, light brown hair, and tan skin.

“Who are you?” I interrogate.

He smirks. “Ivan Zotov, who the fuck are you? Why are you sitting in front of the door?”

“My boyfriend lives here.” I retort.

He chuckles, “Ah.” He sighs. “I guess I’ll come back another time. I’m not a fan of the dramatics.”

He then just walks off.

Present

There is no doubt that’s his son. That kid looks just like him. Those bright green eyes are hard to forget. That guy, Ivan, knew Kyro. Otherwise, why would he have been at his door?

Reyna

Why is she staring at Prince like that? “Prince, why don’t you help your dad get the event ready?” I instruct.

Prince nods, “Come on, Dad.” He pulls on Kyro’s arm.

Kyro gives me a look and I nod for him to leave me. Kyro kisses my lips, and then whispers into my ear, “I won’t be far.”

“Rowan, do you mind if I speak to your wife?” I mustered up the widest smile.

“Yeah, of course.” Rowan smiles. “I’ll go get seats for the auction.” Rowan walks off, leaving Maeve and I.

I cut to the chase quickly. “Why are you staring at my son like that?”

“So, he’s not his son.” She comments.
