Right, because that’s going so well for you so far. Her conscience mocked.

Holly rolled her eyes, trying to push her inner voice away as she focused on settling back into the guest room. She opened her suitcase and started unpacking before deciding on a hot shower to warm herself up.

Okay, so it wasn’t as awkward as Holly had expected it to be.

Thank goodness.

After dropping her back at the cabin, Kris had made himself scarce. Holly remembered he had an apartment somewhere, but she still felt bad. Like she’d run him out of his home.

His choice.

“I’m glad you’re back,” Nick said, as the two of them sat in front of the open fire later that evening, where the burning Yule log scented the air with coziness.

“Really?” she asked as he ran his knuckle down the side of her cheek, causing the butterflies in her stomach to swarm. “Because it seems like all I’ve done is cause chaos and start fights.”

“On the contrary, you’ve brought something special into our lives, and I’m grateful for it.”

Holly gave him the side eye. “I’m not sure Kris would agree,” she said wryly.

“Don’t worry about Kris. It always takes him a while to warm up to anything new and unexpected. He’ll come around.” He topped off her glass of red wine. Holly hadn’t drunk that much, but the alcohol had her feeling a lot more mellow.

“I’m home.” Jaxon’s cheerful voice interrupted her musings, and his presence, when he sat down on the large sofa on the other side of her, made her head spin much more than the wine.

Without any inhibitions, Jaxon scooped her into a warm hug and buried his face in her neck. “Damn, I missed you.”

“Jaxon…” she started, needing to instill some caution into the proceedings.

She didn’t get the chance.

He lifted his head, cupped her cheek, and fitted his mouth over hers, his tongue demanding access, and taking it when hers popped open in surprise.

Her whole body shuddered with desire, and she melted into him.

But there was something else setting her pulse racing.

Another pair of hands pushing her hair to one side. Another mouth pressing kisses to the side of her neck while Jaxon ravaged her lips.

Maybe she should object. That was probably the ladylike thing to do, but she couldn’t manage to find it in her.

Not when it all felt so good.

Not when hands moved slowly to her breasts.

Not when a different hand trailed up her thigh, sliding between her legs.

She whimpered when sharp teeth nipped her earlobe, shooting pure lust through her veins.

Ladylike was overrated.

“Are you okay with this?”

They paused, and Holly arched her back, desperate to be closer.

She wasn't entirely sure what 'this' was, but she couldn't honestly say she was opposed.

“Tell us,” Nick whispered in her ear. “Tell us you like this.”

“Yes... oh, yes.” She groaned, goosebumps erupting on her skin that had nothing to do with the cold winter night.
