"She has—my snakes."

The look Haley turned on the Furies was nothing short of murderous. My heart skipped a beat, a swarm of butterflies filling my belly. Who cared if my chest was a mess of pain, and I could barely breathe? My mate was ready to raise Hell to defend me. I was swooning.

When I could stand upright again, Haley took a slow, calculated step closer to the Furies. "Release his magic, and we'll talk about handing over Wynvail."

"Tisiphone!" Emlyn growled, making my jump half a mile. My heart slammed into my ribcage. "Release him."

"You know your legends, boy," the dog-headed Fury said, her voice velvety and deep. A shudder rippled down my body; I gritted my teeth against the pain cracking through my chest and stepped over Wynvail to stand beside Haley.

"So do I," Haley said in a deadly calm voice. My heart swelled when she drew one of the knives I gifted her, her fingers bone white around the pink hilts. "I know even Furies can be killed."

The blades didn't light up, but my breath quickened in anticipation. If she was powerful enough to break a titan's curse on a legendary creature, what could she do to a deadly being like a Fury?

My dick ached, swelling at the violence written on her beautiful face. And when the snake-haired Fury replied, taunting that the only one who would die here was Wynvail, and Haley cocked her chin up, pure wrath in her eyes, I throbbed for her. A frantic fuck against the wall was nowhere near enough; I needed more from my mate.

Probably best to wait until we weren't being threatened, though.

I yanked on my snakes again, sucking in a sharp breath when the Fury released them and they slammed back into my core of power.Fuck, that hurt. Like she'd snapped an elastic band against my eyeball. I gritted my teeth, panting through it.

"Move," Haley growled, her mouth set in a flat line. "I won't tell you twice."

I bit back a groan, licking my lip for some trace of her taste.

Get it together, Malakai. Life or death situation!

"Hand over the traitor," said the third Fury, a crone with bat wings and a smile so hungry and twisted it made me a little sick. Every instinct warned me to turn and run the other direction when I looked into her many-fanged mouth. Worse when I met the hungry blood-red of her eyes. "I won't tell you twice."

"Get your own vocabulary," Haley spat.

"Get your own vocabulary," the Fury parroted.

Haley gave her the middle finger. "Kai, grab Wyn."

Wyn? FuckingWyn?Really?

I was aware of my face narrowing into a sulky expression as I tramped over to the bastard and grabbed him a little too roughly, making sure to squeeze the places he was hurt. He cried out. Oh, dear. So sad.

Wyn.

"She's mine," I hissed in his ear. "Not yours. Never yours."

He just laughed. Piece of shit.

"We're leaving," Haley told the Furies. "Don't get in my fucking way. Unless youwantto find out what happened to the dragon who tried to stand between me and my mates. It tragically lost its heads."

"You killed the drakon?" Tisiphone demanded, her canine jaws wide. "Impossible."

"Possible," Haley bit out with a mean smile. "Come on, Kai."

She held her dagger in front of her, stalking up to the Fury. I yelled a warning when the air shifted, my magic reacting with a spike, and three snakes shot out of me to grab my mate and pull her back.

The older, bat-winged Fury justbarelymissed Haley when she lurched forward, black claws reaching for my rose. They severed my snakes instead, and I stumbled, choking on a grunt,

The second time I didn't react fast enough. Clawed black fingers tangled in Haley's long hair and wrenched her out of my grasp.

"No,"I snarled, rage filling my chest so suddenly that I couldn't breathe, bleeding through every pore until my power filled the air and I was no longer a man but a being of pure, venomousrage.I didn't waste time on threats. I released Wynvail and dove after my mate, my heart skipping when I saw movement outside the Labyrinth. Harvey and Em were fighting to get to Haley, too.

The Fury's face elongated, her jaws unhinging. Cold skittered over my skin, unease making me gasp, but I threw my hand out, unleashing a den of vipers on the Fury who dared to touch my mate.
