Maverick stopped so close that I could taste his breath. "Your first?” he said so softly I thought I imagined it.

I nodded. “I want King to do it.”

Maverick watched my eyes, his tongue danced out along my bottom lip slowly, and he pulled me flush with him by my hip. “Too damn bad,” he said before sealing my fate.

The kiss felt hungry, wild, and nothing like the first kiss I’d imagined. As badly as I wanted to envision it being King, I loved everything Maverick did to me. The heat from his body pressed me heavily against my door, his thigh maneuvered its way between mine and he thoroughly screwed my mouth with his tongue.

I couldn’t think straight. Maverick smoothed his palm up my side, leaving fire in his wake until he made it to my breast. I’d always been ashamed of how small they were, and unfortunately, his large palm refreshed my memory, but he didn’t seem to mind.

He tugged roughly at my nipple through the thin fabric of my t-shirt. I yelped, never being touched that way, and he took the opportunity to shove his tongue further into my mouth.

Before I could help it, I braced one palm on his chest, and the other into the hair at the nape of his neck. He groaned something into my mouth, reached back, grabbed my wrist, and slammed it above my head, leaving me more at his mercy than before.

As nervous as I’d been, I felt undone when he moved his full mouth from mine, biting my chin and then my neck. I moaned out something incoherently, rolling my hips down against his thigh.

He chuckled, moving back up to my ear where he sucked the lobe into his mouth.

Stars danced along my vision, and I wanted to release my other hand, but I took advantage of my free one and gripped his deltoid, feeling no relief at trying to release my frustration.

I needed ... I didn’t know what.

“What is it?” he whispered, lifting his leg to push harder against my center. I didn’t have to look to know he wore a smirk. He loved that I reacted this way.

Embarrassingly, I moaned, shaking my head and trying to control my hormones. “Stop,” I whimpered.

Maverick moved his palm down my belly, tugged on the front of my jeans, and forced me to look at him. “Now,” he whispered. “When King tries to kiss you, he’ll have to live up to that, and I guarantee he won’t. I’ll be the only man on this campus that can make you feel like this.” He pushed off from the wall, swiped his thumb against his lips, and pushed it back into his mouth. “And you know where to find me.”

***

My entire body felt on edge when I woke up the next morning. I’d spent most of the night reliving everything he’d done to me. I hated myself for it. I wanted to hate Maverick so badly, and I did, but I also longed for him to touch me again.

When I knew the boys left the apartment that next morning, I crawled from bed and took a cold shower. My phone chimed in the middle of my morning coffee.

King:Do you have plans tonight?

I cringed at the imagery of Maverick and me against my bedroom door. He’d told me that King wouldn’t live up to his kiss. Part of me believed him, and the other part wanted to prove him wrong.

It was wrong. Kissing two boys at once, wasn’t it? I had no experience with boys. I went from no boys to ...this.I groaned and swallowed the last bit of my morning Joe.

Me:No plans. Did you have anything in mind?

After I made my bed, I ran to the closest store and bought a cheap broom, mop, and cleaning supplies. The boys had none, which didn’t surprise me. By the time noon came around, the house smelled like Pine Sol, and I had two candles lit.

King suggested we go to a crawfish broil that evening and then to the movies. It sounded exciting, especially since I’d never eaten crawfish. The boys came back as I sat down with my sandwich and chips.

Jordan let out a long whistle. “Smells clean in here, Girl. We for sure have to keep you around.” He stopped in the middle of the floor and pointed toward the carpet. “How did you get that up? I’ve been trying for a year.”

I cringed. “Just a little elbow grease.”

Maverick’s presence followed Jordan into the kitchen, but I didn’t look up from my sandwich. I found it much more interesting. The chair across from me scooted across the tile.

I glanced up at Maverick. His eyes were intense as they traced my lips and down to my thin t-shirt. He slid his tongue against his teeth and then along his bottom lip. We’d mostly been in the dark the night before, but I hadn’t forgotten whom I’d been grinding against.

“What do you have planned for tonight, Lee?” Jordan asked from the fridge.

I swallowed my bite of sandwich. “Not much. I’m going to go to a crawfish broil and maybe the movies.”

Jordan slammed the fridge door and sat down with leftover pizza that he shoved toward Maverick. Jordan wiggled his brows at me. ”Ah, going out with King?”
