“This is the most exciting thing I’ve ever done.”
Elliot takes a sip of his milkshake. My finger taps on my steering wheel. Waiting.Patiently waiting.
My phone beeps, but I don’t take my eyes off the house we’re watching.
“Don’t worry it’s just me in the group chat. Jade asked where we were.”
Elliot taps some more on his phone and me on my wheel.
“For real, though, I’m so excited.”
“Or so you said,” I answer flatly.
It’s not excitement that runs through my body. It’s a need for the kill.
Normally, it’s something I have to feed about every six months. It’s not too bad. Manageable. When I start having nightmares about high school again, about the bullying, that’s when I know it’s time to act before I just kill someone for something as stupid as stealing my parking spot.
But since Jade has been back, things aren’t the same.
And since she was assaulted by that cop…the growing need inside me is turning insatiable.
Three weeks.
Elliot made me wait three. Fucking. Weeks to let me get my hands on him.
First, we had to convince Alex Delacroix to not take this to the cops. To not get her expensive lawyers on it. If we made some noise about it, it would lead right back to us when we took matters into our own hands.
Then Elliot was on my fucking back. The least patient man on earth just wouldn’t leave me the fuck alone.
His colleagues saw the whole thing. It’s too obvious, Ethan.

And there was Jade forbidding us to do anything about it.
