She leaves the room, toward the hallway.

What are these two planning?

I decided three things today.

The first one was in the van on our way to the bank. I decided that if we were going to spend the rest of our lives with Jade, I would tell her the truth about everything. That included stealing the fifty grand and letting her take the fall for it.

The second one was in the bank vault. I decided that I would forgive Elliot if he couldn’t go through with his part of the plan. I know I couldn’t have touched another woman, and I would have his back if he fucked everything for us. That was about thirty seconds before he ran into the vault telling me to put my mask on.

And the third was when NSC walked out of our hallway, showing their faces once we’d brought most of the bags inside, ready to take the money we had just stolen. I decided then that they wouldn’t get away with it.

Emma finally left the room for Elliot’s bedroom.

One down. Three to go.

I look at Elliot, our gazes crossing. I’m almost there with the ties. He can keep going.

He relaxes against the seat, his eyes going back to Logan.

“Hey, Logan,” he says coolly. “I bet you’re loving this little revenge.”

Logan’s eyes narrow on him suspiciously, but he doesn’t say anything. That doesn’t stop my brother.

“Come on. I know how much you hate my brother and me for killing Zara.”

“Shut up.” His clipped words get Jade’s attention.

She knows what we did to get her address from Xi. It wasn’t our proudest fucking moment, that’s for sure. But Elliot would have done anything to get her back, and as much as I want to pretend I was following along because he was threatening to tell Kay I stole the fifty grand or that I helped Jade escape, I don’t think I did. I wanted to find her badly. So badly. It was just easier to hide behind my brother’s craziness.

But I’m the one who stabbed Zara. I killed Xi’s, Logan’s, Racer’s, and Tamar’s best friend.

I know how I would feel if anyone killed my brother. I’d be murderous. Worse than them, for sure.

“Elliot,” Jade rasps. “Stop.”

I give her a look, silently telling her to let us do our thing. She gets it. I know she does because she brings her knees to her chest and drops her head on top of them.

She’s hiding because she can’t take the situation, and that’s okay. We’ll handle it for her. We’ll keep her safe. All she has to do is trust us.

“Xi was right there, you know? He tried to stop us.”

“He’s riling you up, Logan. Don’t let him,” Racer jumps in.

He keeps his eyes on me, but he doesn’t notice the moment my knife cuts through the thick zip ties they used. They really should have checked us better. They took our guns and thought that’s all we had.

Elliot smiles at Logan. “Do you want to know what her last words were?”

“Shut up!” He takes the step that separates him from Elliot, leaning down in the hope to press his gun against his forehead, but he’s too slow.

In a split-second, Elliot headbutts him, smacking his forehead between his eyes.

Logan falls back, his nose busted and bleeding all over the place. As they all turn to him, I get up and punch Racer so hard in the jaw he blacks out right away.
