Completely unafraid, like an invincible man, he turns his back to his enemies.

“Love truly fucks a man up,” I say, shaking my head.

“In the best way, my friend.” Caden smiles. That fucking creepy smile he does so well.

I look at the window again, watching Xi wrap a hand at the back of Alexandra’s neck. He watches us until we go back into the car and disappear.

Ethan gives me the crumbled paper, and I unfold it as he rounds the corner and drives us back to Kings’ territory.

“What the fuck?” I mutter to myself. Ethan stays silent, waiting for me to continue. “She’s on Long Island.”

“Long Island?” he repeats.

“Fuck,” I chuckle to myself. It turns into a laugh until I feel tears at the corners of my eyes.

When I can finally breathe again, I become so serious one could think my dog just got ran over. “The fucking bitch found a sugar daddy to escape us.” She always knew how to slither her way into men’s beds for her own benefit.

I watch Ethan’s jaw work from side to side. “Huh. Looks like we’re going on a road trip.”

Erase You - Point North

“You what?” Kay’s angry eyes flick from me to Ethan and back to me.

Before going anywhere, we stopped by her house to run it past her. If we’re going to bring someone branded as a traitor back to this town, our boss needs to know about it. That way, we can try her North Shore style. She’s pacing around in her kitchen, fuming at what we did.

“We found Jade and we’re going to bring her back,” Ethan explains calmly, again. He runs a hand through his black hair, then starts playing with his helix piercing.

“Not that,” she hisses. “I meanthowyou found out where she is. You went to Xi’s house. I told you guys he was out. We have a deal with NSC, and you went behind my back.”

I smile brightly at her, the reassuring kind. “Kayla, we’re not idiots. We knew Xi wants nothing to do with this life anymore and would be more than happy to give us the address.”

“Don’t give me your manipulative smile, Elliot,” she says, her voice low. “It might work on others, but I’ve known you long enough to see when you’re trying to fuck someone over. You took Caden with you when you know the two hate each other.”

“Hey.” Caden stops spreading mustard on the slice of bread in front of him. “I was good.”

“I don’t give a shit,” she tells him. “Don’t ever go behind my back again.”

“Look,” I say as I sit down at the kitchen table next to Caden, facing her. “The point is, you wanted to find Jade, and we know where she is. It’s just under eight hours to get there. We can leave tonight, grab her in the morning, and come back right away. We’ll be back here by tomorrow evening.”

She looks straight into my eyes, strength and determination burning brightly in her gaze, trying to find anything that could give her an excuse to punish us. Unfortunately for her, she wants Jade back too. She wants the bitch to pay for what she did, and she’s not going to say no to us. Knowing her, she will have conditions, though. I can see her scheming the moment she stops pacing and stares at me, revenge brewing in her genius brain.

“Okay,” she finally relents, pushing out a heavy breath. “You’re going to go get her, and you’re going to bring her right back to me.”

I let out a quiet laugh, my hand coming to graze the table, fingertips tapping on the surface. “That’s if we don’t kill her before we make it back.”

“I get you two have your personal vendetta against her since she fucked the both of you, but the bitch owes me fifty thousand dollars. If you think you’re killing her before she gives it back, think again. You don’t want to piss me off, boys. Believe me.”

Caden snorts to himself, still making a sandwich. “Ain’t that right.”

Kay turns to him and lifts an eyebrow. “You won’t touch her either.”

“She assaulted Billie. I will do whatever the fuck I want to her.”
