His smile touched his eyes.
“I’m supposed to be the charismatic one in this relationship,” Noah said.
“There’s no competition between us.”
“I don’t know… the last time we spoke, you brought up our zodiac signs—and according to some virtual ‘oracle,’ Leo and Aries are extremely competitive with each other.”
“Only in the bedroom.” I winked.
He laughed, gulping back his beer.
“By the way,” I said. “Is it still there?”

Noah arched his sexy eyebrow. “I’m convinced you always ask me this question to get me to strip.”
I gasped dramatically. “Never! I wouldn’t dare!”

He snickered and slowly unbuttoned his shirt, flashing the phoenix tattoo. My name was still inked across his chest.
“I promise it’s not going anywhere,” Noah assured me.
“I hate this distance.” I pouted.
“Remember what I told you at the airport before I left?”

“You have me, Aria, no matter the distance. This is only temporary. I’ll be back in New York next month.”
“I know and I can’t wait! I miss you so much it hurts.”

My cellphone suddenly rang.
“Aren’t you gonna answer that?”
“Whoever it is, they can wait. I’m talking to you.”
I was about to put it on silent when I received a text.
“You sure you don’t want to check that?”
“It’s from Evan,” I said, reading his message. “He’s showcasing some photos at a gallery next week and wants to know if I’d like to go.”
“Ah. And?” Noah stared at me with a critical eye. I guess he expected me to decline the invitation. Regardless, I quickly texted Evan and told Noah I was going. He seemed to brood in silence.
“You’re doing it again.” I sighed.
“Doing what?”
