I wet my lips. “Yeah,” I say, the single word coming out like a dry croak.

“Is that who killed your parents?”

So perceptive. I nod because I will not force the words from between my lips. Reaching for my glass of water like it’s a lifeline, I take a quick sip. Blinking back the emotion from my eyes, I say, “How much does this place cost, Daddy?”

He shakes his head, a mix between a smile and a frown at my change of topic. “More than the watch you swiped to get yourself here.”

“How do you know I’m not here for the money and power?” I ask cheekily.

“Princess, you are the head of the De Luca Mafia. You have all the money and power you could ever want, you just have to claim it.”

I shudder. I don’t want it. Not the power, anyway. “Sin can have it all.”

The topic switches again as Austin relaxes in his seat. “Felix said you likeOmega in Paradise. The producers approached us to be on it a few years ago.”

My eyes go wide. If they had accepted, would we be here right now? “And you didn’t.” Statement is not a question, I’ve watched every season.

“No. I didn’t want an omega. Until now.”

“Until now,” I agree.

His eyes warm, the violet deepening as he watches me with a look of almost love in the depth of his irises. I am sure it is the scent matching talking or my oncoming heat, but I want it to be love. Which makes me certifiably insane.

The waitress returns with more food than we can possibly eat, and when she leaves, Austin insists on feeding me a bite of each dish and watching my reactions. After I finish chewing a bite of the last dish, he picks up the two I loved most and sets them in front of me.

“Eat. You’ll need your energy,” he says.

“For what?”

“For the punishment you are getting for calling me daddy in public.”

CHAPTER45

Austin

I don’t reactto the number at the bottom of the bill; only slide my black card into the waitress’s fingers and focus right back on the only woman I can see, Audrey.

The guys are going crazy. My phone has been vibrating with texts I’ve ignored since before we arrived. And I know I’m being a selfish prick flying her away to have solo time with her, but I had held myself back all day. Locked myself in my office and avoided seeking her out, even though I knew she was in the penthouse only a few steps away.

She did something to my senses. Her perfume clung to me even when I wasn’t in the same room with her, a phantom reminding me of the sweet taste of her skin.

My eyes drop to her neck, Saint and Felix’s marks clearly leaving room for mine in the center. I want to give it to her, but first, I need to make sure it is what she really wants. No second guessing. No running. Once she wears my mark, she is mine. Fully and completely, forever. Because I won’t let her go.

She captures her lip as I watch her, nibbling along the pink surface. And I can see the gears turning. She is about to say something that will make me instantly hard. Those kinds of words always follow her hesitance and holding back.

“What?” I arch an eyebrow.

“Just thinking of what my punishment could be–” she breaks off as the waitress comes back with my card, a slow smile working her lips. Then she stretches and lets out a yawn. “I’m so full,Daddy, I don’t think I have room for anything else.”

My blood runs hot. She has room for something else alright, and I’m going to prove it to her. I ignore the waitress as she openly gasps at my omega as a growl rumbles in my chest. How scandalized would she be if I laid Audrey on the table and partook in dessert for one? Audrey would let me, but giving the restaurant a show isn’t in my plans. So instead, I slide out of the booth and hold out a hand for her. She shimmies her way over the leather booth and places her tiny fingers into mine.

The second we are out in the cool night air, I press her into the stone brick wall at her back, easily boxing her in and capturing her mouth like a man starving. As though I didn’t just eat as much as she had. I can’t get enough of her sweet taste, sweeping my tongue inside her mouth and deepening the kiss. She melts for me almost immediately, her fingers tangling into the hair at the base of my neck as I attempt to convince myself to take this back to the helicopter.

“Get a room,” a man mutters as he passes by.

It reminds me we are out in the open, kissing like we are teens with no control. I pull back slightly, and she leans in, following me, not allowing the kiss to be broken. Groaning, I gather her closer again. She hums in satisfaction.

“Rutting in public is against the law,” a woman complains, a man adding his agreement as they walk behind me.
