It was close to that time that Jericho and I ran into each other at Club Edge. Or more specifically I flew past him on my aerial hoop.

So much has happened since. There have been life changing events like Knight and Aurora welcoming their new baby boy into the world. And me getting that second chance to dance for a world renowned company again.

Then there have been the little things that have made a massive impact on my heart. Like the closeness between Jericho and me.

Since that day when we agreed to thisflingmore has changed between us. All for the better. Six months have gone by quickly and I’ve found myself thinking about the next six.

I feel like they’ll be going even quicker. That’s what happens when you're counting down.

Stop it River. You promised yourself you wouldn’t do this.

Poor me. I have the same thoughts on a daily basis and I have to remind myself of my promises to put things in prospective and protect my heart.

The task might have been easier when I started this journey, but honestly nothing was ever easy when it came to Jericho Grayson.

This is harder because I keep falling for him harder, stronger, and faster every single day.

What’s that thing people say? That all good things must come to an end.

That’s us.

I take a measured breath to push the harrowing thought out of my mind and focus on the slices of roast beef and vegetables on my plate.

Better not to think about it. It hurts less.

We enjoy dinner and have the sort of feel-good conversation that creates a great mood. Once we’re all done, Gina calls into the kitchen to help her with the desserts, but I know she also wants to talk to me away from the group.

“Come here let me hug you again.” she bubbles as soon as the kitchen door closes.

I hug her and I feel like a child again when she hugs me and taps my head.

“I’m am so, so proud of you.” She nods, bringing her hands to her chest with a relieved sigh.

“Thanks Gina. That means a lot.”

“Please make sure you take a good step back and see how far you’ve come.” She sets her hands on my shoulders.

I nod and think about the advice. “I’ve come a long way.”

“You really have and you have the very best husband anyone could ever wish for you.” Her smile brightens.

I smile back, feeling my cheeks heat. “He does take care of me.”

“I’d say he does more than that. I’m just so, darn happy for the two of you.” she hugs me again and we both laugh.

“You next. You have to go on that date with that guy from the hiking club.”

She’s started hiking again, but not like she used to. She’s been doing these organized walks in national parks. The guy who organizes them has been asking her out.

“Maybe.” She chuckles.

“Oh good. Maybe sounds very good and positive.”

“I thought so. We’re probably going to start with a lunch date then see how things go from there.”

“That sounds even better.”

“Alright Miss Lady enough of my love life. Let’s get the people their dessert I did the pies using your great grandmother’s recipe book and I added extra cinnamon.”
