“You have an inner woman?” I ask with a laugh.

Vicente runs his hands down chest with a smirk on his face. “Damn straight, and that bitch has never failed me.”

The door opens and Vicenta walks out, wearing something different that what she wore minutes ago. In place of her casual outfit of shorts and a shirt is a light green lace and suede bustier dress that hugs her body beautifully. The color against her tanned skin is striking and I have to keep from groaning like an asshole at the sight.

Romero holds her hand with his right, the left one pressed against the small of her back as he helps her down the stairs in her high heels.

Behind both of them, Vicente mouthswhy chooseonce more before slipping into the house. I ignore him and watch when Romero bends his head and kisses Vicenta’s maroon stained lips before looking at me.

As I take her hand in mine, I step closer and wrap my arm around her waist, pulling her body flush to mine as I lay my own kiss to her lips. I sigh when I taste Romero on her.

“You look beautiful,Bruja. That color suits you.”

She blushes hard, looking like she doesn’t know what to do or say with both me and Romero handling her as we are.

“It’s the color of your eyes,” I hear her whisper, making me grin.

“She has my number if she needs me,” Romero says easily, his eyes on the white rosary beads that rest between the valley of her breasts beneath the dress before sliding back up to mine.

There’s a hard edge to his voice, rougher than it normally is. I grin. Yeah, he knows I tasted him on the lips of the woman we both want and he’s affected by it.

I nod my head, not trusting that my voice doesn’t sound similar.

His eyes move down toBruja. “I’ll see you soon.Ten una buena tarde, Diabla.”

“Buenas noches, ‘Mero.”

I guide her to the passenger side of my Range Rover, opting for my guards to follow us so we could be alone for the drive.

Once we’re on the road, I find myself having a difficult time speaking. There’s a strong current in the car and I have the urge to loosen my dress shirt, even though I have the top three buttons undone already.

I can feel her gaze on me, her eyes caressing me from head to toe. I smirk, my lips folding inward at the way she struggles to look away. I glance at her, catching her eyes for a second before looking back at the road. Fuck, now I wish I had someone driving for us so I could rip that pretty dress from her body and fuck her until she’s screaming.

“It doesn’t bother me, you know.” I move to lean toward her, steering with my left as I lace our fingers together.

“What doesn’t bother you?” she questions as she stares down at our joined hands.

When we get to a straight road, I turn to her. “When you kiss Romero.”

She looks up at me, her eyes wide as I turn my attention back to the road. I know how she feels. I was caught off guard with where my thoughts went the minute I saw him kissing her. It was different than it was when I knew he was playing pretend with her, when he was using her to hurt me, but when he pressed his lips to hers at the cabin, it reminded me of what it feels like to be loved by him.

When Romero loves, he goes all in and he goes in fast. Getting him to let go is almost like asking the dead to live once more.

His game with Vicenta turned into his reality before he even knew it.

I know it’s true because it was the same for me. We aren’t typical men: we are cartel, ruled by our greed and power. Vicenta has become the thing standing between us, the woman we want for ourselves, but I don’t want to tear her apart in my greed for her.

If he makes her happy, I will bow and beg for a share.

I am greedy by nature, selfish by design, but Vicenta, fuck…she overpowers all of my natural instincts. If sharing her with my enemy means I get a place in her life, then so fucking be it.

I wonder if she even realizes she loves us both. Has she admitted it to herself?

“How can you be okay with it?” she finally asks, her eyes burning into the side of my face.

“Because I know you’ll kiss me too. Because your kisses don’t just belong to him alone.Youdon’t belong to just him.”

“I don’t belong to either of you,” she says in a serious tone. “I belong to no one but myself.”
