“Nope. Rockson was sick.”

“Nevada,” he said in a tight voice.

“Mhm, Nevada.”

“Sorry.” He took my hand. “You know how I feel about the name you gave him.”

“I do.” I laced my fingers with his and smiled.

“I want you, Ella.” He cleared his throat.

“We can go to my bedroom.” I went to stand, but he tugged me onto his lap.

“I don’t mean sex.” His arms wrapped around my waist.

“You don’t?” Momentary relief crashed through me. And then…

“I want you to be mine, only mine.”

“I’m not sure I understand. I belong to the club, so I belong to all the members.”Here it comes, brace yourself…

“Not if you marry me.”

“Marry you?” I feigned surprise. “Vegas, are you proposing to me?”

“If I was, would you say yes?” He eyed me and removed a ring from inside his cut.

“I don’t know. This is so unexpected.” I blinked like I was in shock. “You’re in love with me?”

“Yes, I’m in love with you. I don’t expect you to feel the same for me. RJ was your first and only love, but maybe you’ll grow to love me.”

“I… I’m blown away.” I looped my arms around his neck. “Yes, I’ll marry you!” I sealed my lips to his and imagined I was kissing Rocky.

And the Academy Award goes to Ellassandra Hill, for best actress in a leading role of the psychological thriller Hells Bells…

Vegas grew hard underneath me. His hands were all over my body, squeezing and rubbing. My one saving grace was that Rockson was in his room. Vegas wouldn’t have sex with my son in the house. But he’d be ripping off my clothes if we were alone or at the clubhouse.

I would have to have sex with him soon. The thought made me shudder inside. Everything was different now that Rocky was back. I felt different about giving my body to another man, which told me I still loved Rocky.

Vegas pulled away and took my hand. “We’ll celebrate at the club tonight.” He slipped the ring on my finger and kissed it.

“What about Nevada?” And Rocky? I dreaded the blowback that would surely follow our announcement. How would Tomcat get me out of this awful situation?

“Call the babysitter.”

“What if she’s busy?” I forced myself to act totally on board with his insane marriage proposal.

“Bring him to the club. It’s his home too. And if you’re worried about RJ being there, don’t be. He went out of town.”

My heart plummeted. “Oh, really? Where?”

“Who cares? He’s not here. That’s all that matters.” He captured my lips again and put me on my back.

Why had Rocky left again? Where had he gone? My stomach twisted into knots as Vegas treated me like I belonged to him.

How could Rocky Jones put me in this position? How could that asshole come back just to leave all over again?

Unless he’d gone to Minnesota to attack the Knight’s Legion MC… If that was the case, he could get hurt. Or worse, killed.
