“I don’t know. I’m not sure if I can.”

Celeste leans her head towards me. “I know I don’t know all the details of your past, but I can tell you that he was a wreck the day you and Micah were taken. Before you and Elijah showed up, he was preparing for an all-out manhunt. Not sure if that helps, but I thought you should know.”

We continue to watch Caleb like he’s the subject of a wildlife documentary. He shifts in his sleep, turning onto his back and presenting us with a lovely display of solid pecs and chiseled abs. He’s definitely built like a football player.

Celeste notices his morning wood at the same time I do.

“Jesus,” she whispers.

I immediately redirect my eyes, upend the rest of my coffee, and stand up with a sigh. “Stop looking at it, Cele,” I say, smiling at her, and she blushes.

“Yea, but did you see it?”

I roll my lips in, desperate to not continue this conversation, and walk over to the sleeping bear. I refuse to look at his protruding dick and kick the bottom of his foot.

“Get up. Get out,” I shout, ensuring that he hears me, and turn to Celeste. “I’m gonna go take a shower. Make sure he leaves.”

After fifteen minutes, I turn off the shower and head back to the kitchen. Despite my secret love for hot water and silence, the temptation to think is too great.I don’t want to think today.

Once I get to the sitting room, I find Celeste sitting with her arms crossed over her chest and her legs folded on the sofa.

“What’s wrong, Cele?” I question.

She narrows her eyes. “Ask him.”

I follow her gaze and see Caleb with a sly smile on his face.

I join her in scowling at him. “Why are you still here?”

He chuckles lightly to himself and pats my head as he walks by.

“I was waiting to use the bathroom.”

In the next second, the lock on the front door clicks open and Taylor walks in without a care in the world. I really need to change the damn locks.

Taylor lifts his head, scans the room, and finds Caleb. They stare at each other for about a minute before Taylor speaks.

“Cool, you told them.” He nods to Caleb, and I watch them both walk down the hall like they live here. One goes to the bathroom and the other walks into Celeste’s room.

“Hello to you, too, prick!” I yell. “What the hell are you doing?”

Taylor sticks his head out of the doorway. “Packing.”

I dramatically swing my head to Celeste. “What’s he talking about?”

“Apparently, we’re moving into the frat house,” she growls.

“What the fuck?” I say in shock.

“Hey, is this your toothbrush?” Caleb questions, hanging halfway out of the bathroom.

I spin on my heels and narrow my eyes at him. “What the fuck are you doing?”

He smiles his Hollywood smile. “Brushing my teeth.”

“Don’t you fucking dare—” I start, but it’s too late.

I watch in horror as he slowly places the head of my toothbrush in his mouth, and I gag.
