“So…”

Aero took a deep breath, the lavender and sage scent of Sam’s space calming his racing heart. Turning to face her, Aero cupped Sam’s jaw and gently tilted her face up, kissing her softly.

“Mmm,” Sam hummed, shifting closer and deepening the kiss.

Aero soaked up the feel of her against him, shifting her to her back and covering her body with his before he’d realized he had moved.

Breaking the kiss, Sam gazed up at him with warm hazel eyes. “Are you okay?”

Aero nodded, words failing him as he felt the softness of her body give way to the harder mass of his muscled frame, his thigh slipping between her jean-clad legs, his fingers twining with hers as he held her hands on either side of her head. “You’re so beautiful.”

Sam smiled shyly, tipping her chin up and inviting him to kiss her again. He captured her lips, moaning as his lower body brushed hers. He shuddered, releasing her hand to cup the back of her head. “Sam.”

“Shhh,” she hushed him gently, stroking her hands down his back over his t-shirt. She massaged his tense muscles, feeling him inhale sharply at the sensation. “I’ve got you.”

Aero trembled, her words and touch making his heart race. A tingle ran down his spine, forcing his hips forward as he thrust against her. “Oh.”

Sam sighed, grasping his hips, the rough material of his carpenter jeans scraping her palms, sensitizing her skin further. She guided his hips with her hands, inviting him to press against her again. A zing of pleasure shot through her, the press of his hardness against her making her sweat.

“Mmm,” he moaned, stroking her skin and undulating his hips, acquainting himself with her body. She bucked against him, and he gripped her ass with one large hand, deepening their connection as she wrapped one leg around his lower back.

Aero whimpered. How had he lived without her? Without this? The fear, the panic, and the cold, bony fingers of terror were nowhere to be found as he tucked his face into Sam’s neck, kissing and sucking the skin where her neck met her shoulder. Acting on instinct and letting his body guide him, Aero rolled his hips into hers, their jeans making delicious friction as he moved. “Sam, I’m, oh God.”

“Yes,” she breathed, clutching at his back, wanting to be as close as possible to him but not getting enough.

Something was building—every muscle tightening—but by the time Aero realized what was happening, it was too late. No, no, no.He chanted in his head, flexing his muscles in resistance. With a desperate grunt, Aero came. Hard.

He sucked a shaky breath, his body tensing and releasing, until the pleasure ebbed and was slowly replaced by embarrassment.

“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice high and breathy. It was startling compared to his usually deep timbre.

Sam looked up at him. His cheeks were flushed with arousal or embarrassment, of which she wasn’t sure, and he had what looked like the beginning of tears in his eyes.

“It’s okay,” she said gently.

“No,” he said gruffly, “it’s not.”

“Aero.” Sam reached up with one hand and touched his cheek, making him look at her.

“Thank you,” she whispered sincerely.

Aero’s brows furrowed in confusion. “For what?”

He was horribly embarrassed, feeling like an inexperienced teenager having sex for the first time. He was a grown-ass man, damn it, but he’d lost it after a few seconds.

Sam gazed up at him, her hazel eyes soft and warm. “You just gave yourself to me.”

Aero shook his head curtly, not ready to accept her pity as he shifted uncomfortably in his damp jeans.

“Hey,” Sam cooed. “If it helps, that was hot as hell.”

His lips twitched into an involuntary smile. “Yeah?”

“Yeah,” she confirmed, pulling him to her and hugging him tight.

After a moment, Aero shifted away slightly. “Sam, I um, I need…”

“Right. The bathroom is next door if you wanna, you know, clean up.”
