I knew that now.

When I saw the truth, my belief in them changed.

I left and never returned.

Now that several years had passed and I had seen my true darkness in the world, I wondered if what I really saw all those years ago was the real truth?

Not ready to open that can of worms, I needed to concentrate on my Sunshine. She needed me more than I needed the truth. And right now, Hawk knew why Indigo was in Golden Skulls’ territory.

“Why is Indigo here?”

“That’s all you have to say to me after eight years?”

I growled.

“Still moody as ever, I see. Why are you calling?”

“Indigo.”

“You left. You don’t get to know about the brothers anymore. You made your decision, son. You knew the rules.”

He was right.

I did.

Just like he knew I wasn’t going to let this go. “Indigo.”

“I warned you, son. Actions have consequences. When you are ready to talk, the door is open. Until then, watch your six.”

Before I could respond, he hung up.

“Who is Indigo?”

Turning my head, I found myself staring into her soft pale blue eyes.

Chapter Fifteen

Sunny

“Solomon, who is Indigo?”

I could see the indecision in his eyes. Part of him wanted to tell me, the other part, not so much. Whoever this Indigo was, this person meant something to Solomon. For a man who rarely cared about anything, I found it interesting that he cared about someone other than me and Soleil.

Watching him, I could see the warring turmoil in his eyes as he considered my request. I never wanted to force Solomon to do anything he wasn’t comfortable with and if that meant he kept whoever this Indigo was a secret, then I was okay with that. My Solomon had been through enough growing up. I wasn’t about to add to his distress.

Carefully sitting up, I said, “It’s okay. You don’t have to tell me. Sometimes it’s better to keep a secret until you are ready to tell it. I won’t force you, Solomon. Just know that I’m ready to listen whenever you are ready.”

He slowly nodded.

“Which reminds me. I’ve been meaning to tell you something since I left the hospital. I was going to right away, but things moved fast after I woke up. Now that everything is calming down, I wanted to let you know I know who ran me off the road.”

“Who?”

“It was Scab. The brother from Satan’s Angels. The one who got in your face that day when they showed up. He was there that night, waiting for me when I left school. There was another that I didn’t recognize, but I knew Scab.”

Solomon said nothing as he sat on the floor and listened to my every word.

“There is something else, too. When I was in my coma, I saw Kitty and Mia.”
