“For your cockpit,” I remind him.
“Mmm. I love it.” He sets it on the bedside table, then turns his attention back on me. “And now—”
“You’ve got something formycockpit?” I waggle my eyebrows at him, and he part-laughs, part-groans.
“C’mere.” He wraps a hand around the back of my neck and pulls me down to kiss him. “This time, you’re keeping the bow on.”
EPILOGUE
One year later

Niagara Falls is incredible in December.
Of course, anywhere with Sebastian is incredible, but my suggestion that we spend our first anniversary retracing the route we took last Christmas was a brilliant one if I do say so myself.
“How did you talk me into this?” He shouts over the roar of the falls, which is covering us in frigid spray as it churns past us.
“You love it!” I shout back.
“I loveyou!” He wraps me in his arms, and I press a kiss against his jaw.
Although he hasn’t put in a transfer request yet, Sebastian’s spent more of his off days with me in Milwaukee than he has at his place in Detroit, and I spent most of my summer weekends exploring Michigan with him. Once I’ve finished my doctoral work and landed a job, he’ll figure out his next steps, but we’re both hoping to land in the Chicago area to be close to his family.
My family now too.
After our stop at the Falls, we’re headed back to Bermuda, where Sebastian’s threatening to make me join him in going full festival with this year’s novelty shorts. After that, it’s straight to his parents’ house for the rest of our Christmas festivities. I’m excited about every single minute of it.
“Are you ready to hit the hotel?” he asks after our clothes and hair are soaked through with cold, wet spray.
“You mean, am I ready to warm up in our heart-shaped jacuzzi and then sex you up on our satin sheets?” Finding an over-the-top hotel room in the area had turned out to be harder than I thought, but Sebastian pulled it off, and I plan to reward him for his thoughtfulness.
“That’s exactly what I mean,” he says.
I slip my hand into his. “Lead the way, captain.”
