Of course they’re to blame, they always pulled me into their messes. I almost want to roll my eyes.

“Who?” I ask him as he thrusts the envelope at me.

“You know who, Jordan,” he barks.

“Demetrius.” My father mumbles the name I’d sooner avoid then face.

“What the fuck did you do?” I sneer back at him.

“Take this because it’ll give you the answers you need,” he says, placing the envelope against my chest when I don’t take it at first. My fingers brush against it.

Confusion hits me hard, what is going on? Why are my parents giving me this?

What answers will it give me?

“We won’t see you again. Your mother wanted to see you one last time, with Mia’s anniversary coming up, she wanted to say goodbye,” he says, placing his hands over his hips, watching as my mother pulls me in for a hug and holds me tightly for the first time— ever.

Pulling back, her pain-filled eyes stare back at me. My nostrils flare as I seethe, they want to say goodbye. Are you fucking kidding me?

“You don’t get to do that,” I bark. Running my hands through my hair, I let out an amused laugh.

“My entire life you never loved me—us, and now you want to be doting parents because this is what? You're final goodbye? You fucked up, and now what? I’m going to pay for it?” I bark, anger seeping through me.

“He won’t hurt you.” My father says, I scoff.

“Un-fucking-believable,” I hiss, clenching my teeth.

“This is how it has to be, Jordan. We should have been better parents we know, but I promise what you're looking for is in there.” My father nods at the envelope.

Scoffing, I almost feel bad for going off, my entire body shakes with anger, the need to slam my fist into my fathers face is strong, I clench my fists by my side holding back for once in my life I pity them, he’s not worth it my parents have never loved me and this proves it. With one final look I walk away from my parents. They chose to leave her, let me suffer because of what they did as parents. And now they want forgiveness. Nah, fuck that. I hope they burn in hell.

Jordy isn’t back yetand I'm beginning to worry. After Nova’s surprise visit from Miller, I know he’s watching us and I don’t fucking like it, not one bit.

The fucker wants to hope I don’t get my hands on him.

“King.” Nova sighs. Placing a plate down in front of me, she’s been agitated since Cass brought her home, understandable after what she’d been through. To keep herself occupied, she started cooking, but none of us were in the mood to eat. There were so many secrets hanging between us, even though we’d all revealed one, Nova had no clue just what we kept hidden. We’d forced her to be with us and now she had no other choice but to stay. Santonio asked us to watch out for her and I plan to.

Nova is ours.

I’d been keeping a part of myself hidden for so long, I was beginning to deny it. I’d never told anyone until Bass confronted me and everything just came flooding in. He'd been like a wild tornado tearing me apart and within moments I knew. Bass was different.

Drawing in a steady breath, I scrub my hand through my hair, feeling my lungs cave in. When I kissed Bass, I knew I could no longer deny it—deny him. I could never truly come to grips with it, the reality that I was falling for one of my best friends, one of my friends who currently hates me.

Fuck, everything was falling apart. How could I fix everything when everything kept crumbling under me?

Bass enters the room, and Nova hands him a plate. His eyes connect with mine and he rakes his hand through his hair and points to the couch. “I’m going to sit in there.” Once again he’s ignoring me and moving past me to take his spot on the sofa.

The tension between us is so thick, and I’m fully aware of Cass and Nova’s eyes burning into me as they watch us, both wondering what’s going on between us.

The door opens and Jordy strolls in holding a rather large envelope.

Throwing it on the table, ignoring us, he goes to the fridge and takes out a beer. Popping the top of it, he sculls most of it before coming up for air.

“Guess it didn’t go too well?” Cass asks. Jordy grunts, finishing the beer before grabbing another one and tipping his head toward the envelope.

“They gave me this, warned me, practically said goodbye and almost made me think they cared.” Eyeing the envelope, Jordy grabs it, twisting it in his hands before chucking it back down.

“Fuck them,” he snaps.
