I had to adjust myself as I walked out hearing her curse me out and scream out to me.She’ll learn.

I watch her on the camera as she huffs and puffs in her position. I know leaving her chained up like that for more than a few hours will more than likely leave her with heavy shoulders filled with pain. But I intend to make it up to her when her punishment is over, she just needs to learn. I mean, what I say goes. I won’t have her making a fool out of me and I won't let myself go easy on her.

My phone rings and I fish it out of my pocket and see Jensen’s name flash on the screen.

My brother has been calling me a lot lately, and I know why when I left him in Pleasant Grove with his new family. I had told him I was looking for revenge. He’s worried, I get that, but he needs to let me do my thing.

The ringing stops but starts again, soon after I give in and finally answer.

“Jensen,” I growl because as much as I love my brother, I have things I need to handle.

“Fucking finally,” he bellows down the line. I hear his heavy breathing on the other end and take pity on him.

“I’m fine, is that all.”

I go to hang up, and it’s like his twin signal flashes and he knows before I do.

“Don’t you dare hang up on me, Jacob. I deserve answers.”

I sigh and run my hand through my air. I stay silent for a few beats as I watch Savannah struggle with her chains. I see the look on her face that she’s picturing my balls in a blender and plotting her escape plan.

“Please, bro. You left and I just got you back. I need to know you’re okay and don’t bullshit me, like really okay,” he pleads, and I hate hearing him upset.

“No, Jensen, I’m not okay. My wife and daughter were butchered in front of me, and the man responsible walks around like he’s—” I sigh.

“I just need him to suffer, and he is.”

“What did you do, Jake?” Jensen asks me as I pull the phone away from my ear before I place it back.

“Jacob, please. What did you do?”

“Nothing that concerns you. Just know I’m okay and my revenge is already taking place.”

I hear him shuffle about and sigh again.

“I’m worried about you?”

“Don’t be. I’m fine.”

“This isn’t you. Whatever you're doing, just stop and come home. Please,” he begs me. I hear the desperation in his voice, he’s suffering because I am, he just doesn't know how to fix it.

“Goodbye, Jensen.” Before he can say anything, I hang up. I pull up a number on my burner phone I haven't used in quite some time. Since he’d have no clue it was me that sent him that text.

Time to set things in place because, by now, Pasquale knows his daughter is missing. If he doesn’t, he’s a fucking shitty excuse for a parent because she’s been gone for a week.

He answers after the third ring.

“Hello.”

“Hello to you, old friend.” I clench my teeth as I all but picture the bullet I plan on putting between his eyes.

“Jacob?” I hear him say something to someone and then he’s back with me.

“Do you have her?” I’m almost insulted that he'd think she’d be anywhere else.

“So, you do know she’s missing?”

“Cut the crap, Kipling. Do you have my daughter?” he screams.
