Her forehead creased. Why was Kabier mad now?

“Wait in the car. I’ll get my bag and come,” she told him.

Only when Kabier returned to his car did she face Rajiv. “Shit! I can’t believe he’s here.”

“I can’t believe he tracks your location 24x7, and he actually came here.”

She shook her head. “He’s super protective.”

“Well, this goes way beyond that. My sisters would literally throttle me in my sleep if I did this to them.”

She shrugged, not saying anything. How could she tell him that she actually didn’t mind it, and it made her feel safe knowing her brother could always find out where she was? That was a can of worms that, once opened, couldn’t be closed, and she’d rather let her past remain in the past.

Seeing her silent, Rajiv unlocked the car and handed her purse and scarf to her.

Kabier honked impatiently.

Rajiv looked at the car Kabier was driving. “Your brother sure knows how to make a statement.”

“What can I say?” she giggled, “He loves Porsches. He drives them in whichever city he goes to, even if it’s for a day. He’s a bit over the top like that.”

An odd silence settled over them. She didn’t like it one bit.

“Thank you for tonight,” she told him. “It was fun.”

“Anything for you, Princess. Besides, I had a great time as well.”

He was so sweet at times. She raised her hand, unable to leave without touching him once more. Actually, she was finding it hard to even walk away from him. She had to accept whatever it was that was blossoming between them. She wanted to explore it more.

But before her hand reached his jaw, her brother honked again.

She sighed, dropping her hand. “I’ll see you soon.”

Turning around, she climbed inside her brother’s car. Kabier entered her home address in the car’s GPS system and took off. Within seconds, they were winding their way through the traffic.

“So, how long are you in town for?” she asked Kabier.

“Just two nights. I have a flight back to London on Saturday morning.”

She smiled. “Even though I’m mad at you for showing up the way you did, I am happy that you’re here.”

A corner of his lips tipped. When she went silent after that, Kabier gave her a sideways glance. “Really, Sheena, are you going to make me ask the obvious?”

“Yes, brother,” she threw him a naughty grin, “I’m not a mind reader.”

Of course, she knew what he was talking about. That didn’t mean she’d make it easy for him. Where would the fun in that be?

“Alright then, Sheena. What the fuck is going on between Rajiv Mehra and you?” Kabier growled.

“Umm…nothing.”

He looked disgusted by her reply. “It definitely didn’t look likenothingto me.”

“Will you relax? He’s just a…a friend.”

Although friend was too tame a word for what she felt about Rajiv.

“A friend? One you definitely couldn’t seem to keep your hands off.”
