“He’s younger than you!” I respond excitedly.

His eyes widen. “Raegan!”

I wince. “Forty-one?”

He blinks at me. “Excuse me? Forty—” He shoots to his feet. “You’re twenty-two! NEWLY TWENTY-TWO! Like TODAY!” he shouts, although I know when Theo Graham is angry shouting and this isn’t it. He takes a deep breath and I can tell he’s arguing with himself. A flash of something I don’t recognize crosses his face and it’s almost as if he’s conflicted. “I need to meet him.”

“Yes!”

“Like today, young lady.”

“Okay! But please be nice.” I bite my bottom lip and look off to the side, as I prepare to tell the second most important guy in my life about the guy who recently dethroned him as the first. “I love him.”

He narrows his eyes at me before he lets out a sigh. “Does he know that?” I nod. “Does he feel the same?” I nod again and he raises an eyebrow at me. “Did he say it first?”

Thoughts of the first time he said it a few days ago comes rushing back to me and I can’t stop the smile from creeping onto my face.

I turn over, just as the last bit of sleep slips away one morning, and collide with Wes’ hard body. I’m instantly comforted as his arms wrap around me. Heat floods me when I feel his dick pressing against me through his sweatpants. I press my face into his bare chest and sigh when I feel his lips on my head.

“I love you,” I hear him whisper and my eyes shoot open.

My mouth drops open and tears flood my eyes becausehe said it. Oh my God!

I pull back immediately to look up at him, blinking away the tears. “You do?”

He stares at me, his eyes wide and then he clears his throat. “I did not think you were awake.” He looks away from me and for the first time since he first expressed his feelings for me, I can see nerves all over his face. “I know it’s soon—”

I turn his face to look at me. “Answer me.”

“What do you think?”

“I think you do.”

He smiles at me and I push him onto his back and straddle him. “I do.” He nods. “I love you, Raegan.”

“Oh my God.” I press my lips to his. “I love you too.”

“Yeah, Dad.” I beam. “He said it first.”

“Don’t be nervous,” I say as Wes and I stand outside my house. I’d gone outside when he got here to make sure he was okay before I brought him in.

“I’m not,” he responds even as he pushes his glasses up his nose with his middle finger.Something I notice he only does when he’s anxious.

“One, I was talking to myself, and two, you’re a liar.”

He narrows his gaze at me.“I’m meeting your father. It’s a big deal. What do I do again?”

“You own a company! Just not the one I work for…get with the story!” I snap my fingers.

He chuckles. “Fine. If I say my last name, he won’t put two and two together?”

“Oh, good call. He may not remember the company, but he might! My dad pays attention. Goddamn it. Okay, when I introduce you, I’m just not going to say your last name.”

He tilts his head to the side. “Is that going to work?”

The door opens and my father stands in the entrance. “You guys just going to stand out here all day?” His eyes ping-pong back and forth between us.

“Dad, this is Wes!” I say about four octaves higher than my usual speaking voice and both of them look at me with amused expressions. I ignore their looks. “Wes, this is my father, Theo. You may know him from being in the NFL. Dad, Wes is a huge fan.”
