“Oh, I’m sorry. Is my presence amusing you?” I ask, taking a step closer.

The second I do, her perfume fills my nose. It’s not sickly sweet and overpowering like most of the girls at All Hallows’. Instead, it’s subtler, almost… bitter.

A smirk curls at my lips. Yeah, that fucking suits her.

“Nothing amuses me about you, big man,” she teases. “Although, I’m sure plenty must laugh when you get your teeny weeny out like it’s something to be proud of.”

My eyes widen.

Oh no, she fucking didn’t just insult my dick.

I close the last few inches separating us, and despite the mud that’s coating almost every inch of me, she doesn’t so much as flinch.

“Get out of my little sister’s room, New Girl. You are not welcome here. We’re not friends, remember.”

Her eyes narrow as she juts her chin out in a move that few would be brave enough to do.“No, if I remember rightly, you’re gunning for enemies.”

My nostrils flare as I suck in a deep breath, desperately trying not to strangle the bitch right here and now.“Leave. Now.”

“Only because you asked so nicely,” she sneers. “Millie, if you need me, you know where to find me,” she says sweetly to my sister, although she never once rips her eyes from mine.

“No,” I bark. “You’re not going anywhere near Millie again.”

She smiles. But it’s not a friendly one. It’s full of bitterness and challenge.

“Try and stop me.”

RAINE

Istorm out of Millie’s room fuming.

Who the hell does Theo think he is?

Entitled, arrogant, cocky—

Get a grip, Raine. He’s not important.

But the fact Millie is his little sister throws a spanner in the works. When she’d run out of the therapy session crying, I’d gone after her. Followed her all the way back to the girls’ dorm, unable to let go of her pained expression as Miss Linley encouraged to share how her Christmas break had been.

There’s something about her. I only wanted to check on her, to make sure she was okay.

But that was before I knew she was Theo’s little sister.

Jesus. Less than a few days at All Hallows’ and this place is already getting under my skin. I don’t like it. I need to keep my head down and my nose out of other people’s business.

Easier said than done.

I head straight for my room, but sense someone following me.

Glancing over my shoulder, I arch a brow at Theo as he stalks behind me. “What the hell are you doing?” I seethe.

“We need to talk.”

“No, we really don’t.” Hurrying, I unlock my door and slip inside. But he’s quicker, slamming his palm into my door.

“Theo!” I hiss.
