“I am now.” He collars my throat gently, stroking his thumb over my thundering pulse.

“Theo…”

“What?”

“We can’t, not here. Not with Millie upstairs.”

“I know,” he sighs, pulling me closer. “I just want to feel you for a second. Have you close. Maybe get a kiss.” He flashes me a crooked smile, one that has my insides curling.

“You are such a bad influence,” I whisper.

“Yeah, but you love it, sunshine.”

“Yeah, I do.”

Too much.

Theo closes the distance between us, hovering his mouth right over mine. The air crackles between us, charged with electricity.

“I want you so fucking badly,” he murmurs. “I want to take you down to the basement and tie you up and show you just how fucking grateful I am that you’re here.”

“Theo…” My breath catches as he bands his arm around my lower back and forces me to grind onto his thick length.

“You were made for me, sunshine. And I’m fucking gone for you.” He stares into my eyes, trying to get past all my defences.

This broken beautiful boy disarms me in the best kind of way.

And I wish things were different.

I wish I wasn’t the girl dragged up in care, forced to do things no girl ever should be.

I wish I was the girl who got to have her happily ever after.

But that’s not my story.

So I’ll take these pieces—these scraps—until Vaughn swoops in and destroys everything.

Because he will.

This is all a game to him.

Foreplay.

A violent shiver goes through me and Theo frowns. “What’s wrong?”

“Nothing.” I smile, hoping he can’t see the shadows in my eyes. “You said something about a kiss?”

The distraction works and he attacks my mouth with slow, drugging kisses. Our tongues tangle as I press closer, the friction between our bodies so fucking good that I’m sure I could get off like this if he just—

“No fucking at the breakfast table,” Oakley’s voice cuts through the air and Theo murmurs something under his breath, burying his face in my neck.

I glance over my shoulder at Oakley and he grins. “Sorry, lovers. Just grabbing some water and then you can continue.”

“Tosser,” Theo spits, earning him a deep chuckle from his friend.

Oakley saunters out of the room, leaving us alone once more.

“Now, where were we?” Theo flashes me a wicked grin but I gently press my hand against his chest.
