I burst out of the pub into a sheet of rain. But I welcome the deluge. At least it will hide the fat ugly tears rolling down my cheeks.

At least it will conceal my absolute devastation.

For a second, I glance back at the entrance, sucking in a ragged, broken breath, hoping and praying that Elliot will appear at any second to come after me.

And yet again I’m left lost and alone at the hands of Elliot Eaton.

It’s completely and utterly destroyed.
