“Not that I could see. Just three cars. No security. Arrogant motherfuckers think they’re untouchable.”

“Half their problem,” Ezra mutters.

“Do you know where they’re hiding out themselves?” Ellis asks.

“No. I couldn’t trail them when they left. It was too obvious. But I’m going to work on it.”

“The second we get into this hangar, they’re going to go even deeper underground,” Devin warns.

“I’ll find them.”

“Your pussy that good, huh?” he taunts.

Aubrey smiles at him, but there is nothing friendly in it. In fact, it would probably make most men’s balls shrivel up in an instant.

“As I said before,” she sneers. “I’m good at my job. There isn’t anything else for you to worry about.”

“Fuck. I think I’m in love,” Devin announces, making Aubrey roll her eyes as her top lip peels back.

“Cute. But I’m not into little boys who like to play with guns.”

“Jesus, can we just fucking get to the point here. You’ve got the location, let’s just fucking go already,” JD announces, marching toward the car, ready to get his girl back.

I turn to follow him, agreeing with his sentiment, but the second Aubrey speaks again, I pause.

“I’ve sorted you out a place to go after.”

“A place?” JD asks, having also stopped.

“They’ll come for you. All of you,” she says, looking around us again. “I get that you want to do this as a team, but you need to think carefully about how you go about this.”

Nothing but the squawk of a bird flying overhead fills the air as her words settle in my head.

“You three go home,” I demand, staring at my younger brothers.

“Nah, Bro,” Ezra argues, stepping forward. “We’re in this fight with you.”

“What he said,” Devin agrees.

My eyes find Ellis’s in the hope he’s on the same wavelength as me.

“Reid’s right,” he agrees.

“But—”

“If Aubrey says the hangar is clear, then Reid and JD won’t have any issues getting in and getting them out.”

“But what if—” Ezra continues to try and argue.

“If Victor finds out we’re all in on this, then we’re all going to be in hiding. Reid needs us to be living our normal lives. Right, Bro?”

“Right,” I agree, rubbing the back of my neck as I silently thank Ellis for understanding. “We’re going to need you, but now isn’t the time.”

With a nod, I spin around toward my car.

“We’ll be in touch,” I promise before dropping into the driver’s seat, JD only a second behind me.

“I’ll be in touch,” Aubrey promises before disappearing back into the trees.
