And then the man appears.

It’s my father.

REID

Motherfucker.

My fists curl, my short nails digging into my palms as fury races through me.

There was a part of me that knew it was going to be too good to be true.

Victor is a lot of things, but an idiot isn’t one of them.

If he so much as suspected a rat then there would be no way he’d show his own face.

Interesting that he’s willing to send his right-hand man though.

Reaching behind me, I pull my piece from my waistband, ready to take the motherfucker out.

Yeah, I’m disappointed it’s not my father, but this cunt has hurt Alana as well. He’s hurt Mav. He’s hurt us.

He is as much the enemy as Victor and Kurt.

He looks around hesitantly. If Victor smelled a rat, then clearly he never shared it with Razor because he mostly just looks confused that Sidney isn’t here waiting for him.

Throwing your closest ally under the bus… interesting.

Maybe Victor isn’t keeping it together as much as he might like us to believe.

“Hello,” Razor calls, making my muscles ache to step out. I can only imagine that Mav is feeling the same.

I count to three and as he turns to look behind him, I take a step forward. The rustling of fabric tells me that the others are with me.

“Good evening, Razor. Long time no see,” I taunt.

His entire body locks up before he turns and levels me with a hard look.

“Well, well, well, aren’t you four a sight for sore eyes.”

His eyes move from mine to those of the people behind me. They linger on one person, and I can only imagine that’s Mav.

“Son,” he greets, proving me right. “This is a sight I never thought I’d see,” he confesses, looking between the two of us. “Victor and I had such high hopes for the two of you.”

“You always wanted us to work together. It seems you finally got your wish. Shame it’s not going to go the way you wanted though, huh?”

He feigns innocence.

“Not sure what you’re talking about, Son.”

“Then you really are dumber than you look, old man. You might have got the better of me the last time we met, but today there will only be one winner, and it’s certainly not going to be you.”

Razor tries to look unfazed by his son’s taunts, but the increased movements of his chest give him away.

He’s outnumbered here.

He already knows he’s lost.
