Nova’s heart leapt when she saw Linc standing next to the tree with several other Daddies who Master Derek had obviously roused. He’d come! But probably only because Master Derek made him—the boss would already have Sadie plus a couple other Littles to discipline and wouldn’t have time for her.

Quinn’s Daddy plucked a pair of green panties with sparkly Christmas trees on them from a branch and dangled them off a finger.

“These look awfully familiar, young lady,” he said with a raised brow.

Nova’s tummy did an awkward flip as Linc reached up and snagged a pair of light blue briefs with white, silver, and darker blue snowflakes printed on them, with curlicued words circling the flakes.

“I think I recognize these too, shortcake.”

She hadn’t liked being punished by Linc, at all. It had been hard and yucky and she would never, ever wander around in the cold and the dark by herself ever again, especially without telling anyone where she was going. But this felt like it could be more funishment, and in the right headspace Nova could really enjoy that. Now she just had to wait and see.

In the meantime, Master Derek expected an explanation.

“Now, what do you have to say for yourself?” he asked Sadie, who clearly considered denying once again that she’d had anything to do with this but then maybe thought better of it. Nova was ready to confess if it made the difference between funishment and punishment.

“It was our first panty raid, Daddy!” Sadie blurted.

“Your first… what?”

“Our first panty raid,” Sadie told him with hands on her hips, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“You girls are doing this wrong,” Master Derek muttered as he rubbed the bridge of his nose and shook his head.

Some of the Daddies, including Linc, tried to hide chuckles behind their hands.

“Do you know what a panty raid actually is?” Master Derek pressed.

“Of course. But it would be rude to take people’s panties who hadn’t consented to that,” Sadie pointed out.

Master Derek looked to the heavens as if anyone up there would help him manage his prankster Little and sighed. “At least you’ve listened to one thing I’ve said.”

“And it looks so festive!” Quinn chimed in.

“It’s after Christmas, but I suspect a lot of you girls are going to have some bottoms as red as Rudolph’s nose,” Master Derek said.

From the way Linc was looking at her, Nova thought he might be right.

Chapter 29

After Derek had dismissed them to handle the Littles as they saw fit and reminded them to come back for brunch at the Big House, Linc set his hand on the back of Nova’s neck and steered her back to the trail that they’d tromped through the snow next to the one the Littles had left in the wee hours while getting up to their mischief.

Usually he’d hold her hand but this scenario didn’t seem to call for simple sweet affection. It was more complicated than that.

If Nova seemed upset or worried that he was really mad he would’ve taken the time to talk it out but she seemed to be enjoying him cuffing her nape. In a dialing up the tension kind of way. Anticipation could be fun, and he kept an eye on her to make sure she wasn’t feeling queasy with guilt or sick with fear. That wasn’t what he was going for at all.

He marched her back to his room, stripped her of her outerwear, and sat her on the couch once they were inside. Linc stayed standing and crossed his arms over his chest. The way Nova looked up at him through her lashes did something to his stomach—and his dick.

“And what should the penalty for a very naughty Little girl be? You snuck out of a sleepover at Sadie’s house, were wandering around the property at night—”

“With so many flashlights and our phones,” she muttered.

“And you took a perfectly good pair of panties and hung them in a tree. What if some wildlife had found them and gotten tangled up? Or what if a hawk had snatched them up?”

“They’re very soft and comfy, I’m sure it would make good material for their nest.”

He couldn't help it anymore. This being stern about something so funny wasn’t in him. At least not for long, anyway. Linc grinned at her. “It was a really good prank.”

“Wasn’t it? Sometimes Sadie can go too far, but that was just silly, and I promise we were safe. We all had buddies and flashlights and our phones, and we’ve all been out to the pond a bunch of times.”
