“Especially on the injured party.”

“Do you hear from her?”

“Not lately. She called me when I filed for divorce and chewed me a new one for filing so fast.” He shook his head. “I didn’t get it. She’s the one who left, so why get angry when I gave her what she wanted? I waited for her to file; when she didn’t, I did. It was over.”

“Maybe she thought you’d fight the divorce.”

“I never thought of that. Did she think I’d contest the divorce if I really loved her?”

JoJo couldn’t help but hear some excitement in his voice. Did he still have feelings for Diane? Oh, God! She got off the bed, found her clothes, and dressed.

“Where are you going?”

“Could you take me home?” She mentally swore when her voice caught.

“JoJo? What is it?” He put his hands on her shoulders and turned her to face him.

She shook her head. Why? Why did she fall for him? She gasped and threw her hand over her mouth. No! It was too soon!

“JoJo? You’re scaring me. What’s wrong?”

She was so pissed that she was in love with him that she pushed away from him, placed her hands on her hips, and narrowed her eyes.

“What’s wrong? What’s wrong?Well, let me tell you. You still have feelings for your wife—oh, excuse me…ex-wife.”

“What the fuck are you talking about? We talked about my divorce, and you come away from that thinking I still have feelings for Diane?”

“You sounded a little too excited when you thought she wanted you to contest the divorce to show you loved her,” JoJo shouted.

His eyes widened, and then he barked out a laugh. He shook his head and sat on the edge of the bed.

“That’s funny to you?” JoJo snapped and couldn’t stop her eyes from traveling over his dick.Could he just put clothes on?

“Oh, JoJo, you’re so wrong.”

“What?”

“I was incredulous that she would even think something like that would work, but it hit me that is exactly what she’d do.” He laughed again. “No wonder she was pissed when I filed.”

JoJo stared at him as he continued to laugh. She felt like a fool. The one thing she prided herself on was not jumping to conclusions.

“I’m so sorry,” she whispered.

His head snapped up, and he pushed to his feet. He strode to her in all his nakedness and cupped her face.

“There’s no reason to apologize.” He grinned. “Remember what I said? A little jealousy doesn’t hurt.”

JoJo pushed him back. “You think I was jealous?”

“Yes, ma’am.” He stepped forward.

“No way.” She stepped back.

He grinned, and she bit her lip to keep from smiling.

“Oh, I think so.” Another step closer.

JoJo folded her arms across her chest and lifted her chin.
