“Good morning, sweetheart,” he murmured, then pressed his lips to hers.

“I can’t wait to see your land.”

“Hell, neither can I.” He grinned.

JoJo smiled, moved around him, walked to the horses, and put the bag into the saddlebag. She noticed Brett had the same saddle on Cinder she’d used the last time.

She put her foot in the stirrup, hoisted herself into the saddle, and smiled.

“I love riding.”

Brett moved to where she sat on the horse and touched her knee as he gazed at her.

“I love you riding too.”

JoJo giggled. “I meant horses.”

His eyebrows shot up. “So did I.”

Shaking her head, she grinned. “Sure you did. Come on, daylights a wasting.”

He grinned. “Definitely a cowgirl.”

Then he vaulted into the saddle and nodded for her to go. She rode past him and winked, making him grin.

They rode out of the barn, and Brett stopped and turned in the saddle to look at her.

“Do you have sunscreen on?”

JoJo shook her head. “I didn’t think to bring any, which is crazy because I always use it.”

“I know. I remember the day you were putting it on at the pool.” He grinned when she narrowed her eyes, and he shrugged.

“I’ll need it.”

“There’s some in the tack room. I’ll get it.” He kneed his horse and rode back into the barn.

After dismounting, he entered the tack room, found the sunscreen, mounted the horse, and rode out into the sunshine again.

As he looked at JoJo, Brett drew in the sight of her and knew he was falling for her. It didn’t make him panic. She was the one he wanted in his life, and he hoped she felt the same. But he also knew it was too soon to tell her.

“Here you go.” He stopped beside her and handed her the lotion. “Don’t squirt it in the air this time.”

“I won’t. You have clothes on.”

“What?” He frowned.

“The day it went into the air is because I watched you coming out of the pool, and I clenched my hand around the tube. So, it’s your fault.”

“Wait. Let me get this straight. You squeezed the tube because I was walking out of the pool, and you blame me.”

“You got it.” She kneed Cinder into a run.

Brett shook his head, then did the same and ran after her. He raised his face to the sun and then glanced around his land. He was happy he’d bought this place.

“Which way?” JoJo asked him as she looked over her shoulder at him.
