I laughed silently to myself as I stood up and grabbed my purse off the desk.

When I passed by Cheryl’s office, I knocked lightly. “Nick needs me for an errand,” I said, giving her a quick wave.

This wasn’t the first time it had happened, and she never said a word about it.

For one thing, I did more than my required workload—even considering I had to leave early for class twice a week.

And for another—she knew I was likely sleeping with the boss.

I turned right toward the elevator and heard a low whistle coming from behind me. This was not an uncommon thing to have happen to me. But it had never happened here at work.

The best thing to do in these situations was to ignore the pig.

So, I did exactly that as I headed toward the elevators.

“Where did you come from, sweetheart? Besides my dreams?” The pig apparently wasn’t going to let up.

I swung my head around to see a handsome man—around Nick’s age—staring down at me. “That’s original,” I said with a sarcastic edge to my voice, hoping he’d drop it.

Instead, he laughed, in a deep, charming, panty dropping tone. “Oh, I bet you’re just full of fire, aren’t you?” The way he said it I felt my nipples start to harden as his gaze swept over me.

I swear I could feel exactly what he wanted to do to me, just with that one look.

“I’ve been told that more than once,” I said in a huff, pretending he had no effect on me whatsoever. The elevator chimed, and I hurried into it.

So did the handsome pig.

“Looks like we’re all alone—I didn’t get your name?” he asked, staring directly at my cleavage.

“That’s because I didn’t give it to you,” I said, trying to dismiss him.

Again, it had the opposite effect.

Instead of getting pissed off and leaving me alone, he laughed like he was enjoying every second of our interaction. “Come on, sweetheart. You know you want to tell me,” he said, teasing me with his sexy voice.

“Actually, I really don’t,” I responded flatly.

And, he let out another laugh.

Damn this man.

The doors opened, and I walked out first. “Hold up, gorgeous,” he said as he caught up to me. “How about you give me your phone number?”

I swiveled my head around and shot him a nasty glance. “How about I don’t?”

As I hustled toward Nick’s office, I heard the handsome pig laugh again. “Good grief,” I muttered to myself before I greeted Nick’s admin assistant and sped through his door.

“Have I ever told you how much I love your listening skills?” Nick asked as he swept me up into his arms. He’d been waiting for me.

I let my fingers travel up to his shoulders, then threaded them behind his neck. “You’ve mentioned it once or twice.”

He chuckled and dropped his lips to mine. “I was trying to get some work done, but all I could think of was you in this white top.” He yanked me closer to his body, and I sighed when he kissed me.

It didn’t take long for his hand to find its way to my breast.

Suddenly, the door swung open, and we heard a loud, “I knew it!” yelled out.

I jumped away from Nick so quickly, my heart nearly jumped right out of my chest.
