"What? Why?” she gasps.

“Sexual harassment. You never got permission to post that image and I’ve repeatedly asked you to remove it,” I fire back. I’m not in the mood to play games or deal with her constant innuendos. I’ve let that go on long enough because I felt sorry for her.

She yanks her phone from her back pocket, scrolling through her Insta feed until she gets to the image in question. Her finger hovers over the delete button when she turns it to me.

“Fine. Here,” she says, tapping the screen.

The image vanishes, so I pull out my phone and double-check that it’s no longer there.

It’s not.

“About fuckin’ time. Now, get the hell out of here,” I growl, turning to leave.

“Wait—” she calls after me. “You’re not serious. You’re firing me? I did what you asked.”

I spin on her, getting right into her space. “You should have done it the first fuckin’ time, Rebecca. I want you out of this club. Why I’ve dealt with your shit as long as I have is beyond me. You’re lucky I don’t send this up to Noah.”

Fear strikes her eyes and she takes a step back, pouting.

I don’t care, though. I just don’t have it in me.

So, I turn away from her and head to my office to cool down.

Honestly, I’m not even really all that pissed that it took this long. I’m more upset that Lily could have stumbled on it.

I sit down at my desk and rest my face in my hands.

“Well, that was quite the show.”

I glance up to see Myles in the doorway. Her arms are crossed as she leans against the frame.

“Don’t start,” I warn.

She holds up her hands. “Hey, it’s about time you kicked her ass out. I’m just wondering what the catalyst was.”

I shoot her another annoyed look, but Myles being Myles, she doesn’t read the room. She walks in and takes a seat.

“Don’t you have work to do?” I ask, fully aware my tone is anything but friendly right now.

“Are you kidding? With her on the rampage before she leaves? Hell no. If you get to hide, so do I,” Myles retorts, crossing her left ankle over her right knee as she leans back.

“Why are we hiding?” Cal questions, slinking into the room and taking the seat beside Myles.

“Christ,” I look to the ceiling and mutter under my breath.

Myles jabs a thumb in my direction. “Saint here finally gave Rebecca the ol’ heave-ho. Emphasis on theho.”

My expression deadpans when I glance her direction.

“About damn time.” Cal laughs. “If I had to watch her batting her heart eyes at you much longer, I was gonna have to invest in barf bags.”

“Nice,” I say, making a face and flicking him off.

Myles reaches out and taps Cal’s forearm. “I’m trying to get him to admit that his feelings for Lily finally got him to boot her out. Wanna help?”

Cal leans forward and places his elbows on his knees. “Is that so?”

Deny.
