Deny.

Deny.

I shake my head. “Psh. Nah, that’s not it. You’re bothwayoff base.”

“What is it then, pray tell?” Myles asks, folding her hands over her knee and giving me a smug-as-hell grin.

“If you must know,” I begin, raising my eyebrows, “she took a photo of me shirtless and posted it on her Insta feed without permission. I’ve asked her numerous times to take it down and she still hadn’t done it. I was fed up.”

Myles’ eyes are about to bug out of her head.

Gotta admit that makes me feel kinda powerful.

Yeah, lose that smug grin, lady.

Men are sexually harassed, too.

“Wow,” Myles sputters. “I thought for sure it was about …”

Cal holds up a hand, forcing Myles to stop talking. “Hang the fuck on.”

I narrow my eyes.Shit. This isn’t gonna be good.

Myles turns to him, her expression full of expectation.

The bastard that he is, Cal just leans back and grins, eyeing me the entire time. “So, you’re saying youjust so happenedto be flitting through your ex’s Insta feed and realized this?”

“I knew that she …” I scratch the back of my head. “I mean, I was kinda …”

As if in slow motion, Myles turns to face me, total recognition dawning in her damn different-colored eyes. “You were scrubbing social feeds.” Her mouth pops open as humor glints in her eyes. Then she points forcefully at me and barks out a laugh. “I fuckingknewit.”

I itch the side of my nose. “After all of the shit she’s been pulling, it was time.”

“Bullshit,” Cal snickers.

“It had nothing to do with L—”

A knock on my door frame pulls my attention and the brown eyes peering back at me make my stomach flip flop.

I stand all too quickly and finish my sentence as if I intended to greet her all along,“Lily.”

Cal and Myles also turn around to view the visitor in the doorway.

“Rebecca let me in,” she says looking extremely uncomfortable as she glances around the room. “Is—I hope that’s okay?”

“Oh, yeah. Sure,” I say, shaking my head ‘no’ even though I’m saying yes.

What the hell kind of mixed signal is that?

I itch at my temple.

Fuck, tell me she didn’t hear any of that previous shit.

“Well, I guess that’s our cue,” Cal says, nudging Myles on the shoulder.

“Looks like,” Myles chirps, dropping her foot and slapping her thighs before standing up.

“I didn’t mean to scare you two off,” Lily says, taking a step into the hallway.
